Nigel Lythgoe will return to his role as an executive producer of 'American Idol' for the show's tenth season, The Hollywood Reporter reports. Lythgoe, who was an executive producer during the show's first seven seasons, will be one of four executive producers, along with Simon Fuller, Cecile Frot-Coutaz and Ken Warwick.

Red-hot pop sensation Jason Derulo will embark on his first headlining tour of the U.S. beginning September 27th in Philadelphia, PA. The tour, which features special guest Auburn, will criss-cross the country before winding up October 29th in Fairfield, CT. Pre-sale tickets for AOL AIM Presents Jason Derulo powered by Samsung Mobile will be available August 5th through Ticketmaster and go on-sale to the general public on August 6th and 7th. Ellen DeGeneres will leave 'American Idol,' according to an announcement from the comedian/talk show host herself.

Jessica Simpson is in consideration to replace Simon Cowell on 'American Idol,' contactmusic.com reports.

Actress Jane Lynch will appear at this year's Teen Choice Awards, which will air on Fox August 9 at 8pm, The Wrap reports. As previously reported on BroadwayWorld, Lynch's GLEE co-stars Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Cory Monteith, and Mark Salling will co-host the the show with Katy Perry.
