Matthis, Plunkett, and Sanders to Perform from Historic Female Playwrights

HISTORY MATTERS/BACK TO THE FUTURE presents an evening of scenes from women's plays of the past, performed by renowned actors April Matthis (Lear; The Sound and the Fury; April Seventh, 1928), Maryann Plunkett (Blue Valentine, The Apple Family Plays) and Jay O. Sanders (Blindspot, The Apple Family Plays) directed by Joan Vail Thorne, founder of History Matters/Back to the Future.

Gingold Theatrical Group continued its 12th Season of PROJECT SHAW when it presented its 128th concert presentation, Votes for Women, a rare staging of the 1907 play by Elizabeth Robins, for one night only, on Monday, November 20th, at 7pm, at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2537 Broadway at 95th Street). The School of Theatre at Florida State to Present HEDDA GABLER

The 2015-2016 School of Theatre Season will close with Henrik Ibsen's infamous Hedda Gabler, directed by Fred Chappell. One of the world's most famous literary heroines, aristocrat Hedda pushes the boundaries of what she can convince others to do in the name of love and shows the world that love, in the wrong hands, can result in greatness and in catastrophe. Hedda Gabler is playing in the Lab Theatre March 25-April 3.

On Sunday, May 4th at 5pm at Symphony Space on the Upper West Side, LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER: NYC, part of a 32-city series of readings nationwide in celebration of Mother's Day, will once again take center stage in the Big Apple. This third annual New York City production features prominent local writers and performers telling their own tales of motherhood in all of its complexity, diversity, and humor.
