Roundabout Theatre Company will present of Picnic, starring Reed Birney as "Howard Bevans", Maggie Grace as "Madge Owens", Elizabeth Marvel as "Rosemary Sydney", Sebastian Stan as "Hal Carter", Mare Winningham as "Flo Owens" and Ellen Burstyn as "Helen Potts". This production will be directed by Sam Gold. The cast will also feature Madeleine Martin (Millie Owens), Ben Rappaport (Alan Seymour), Cassie Beck (Christine Schoenwalde), Maddie Corman (Irma Kronkite), Chris Perfetti (Bomber). Picnic will begin previews on December 14, 2012 and open officially on January 13, 2013 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42 nd Street). Austin Pendleton will step into the role of Lebedev beginning Friday, October 26 in his production of Anton Chekhov's IVANOV at Classic Stage Company (135 East 13th Street) replacing veteran actor Louis Zorich, who has withdrawn due to a foot injury. Pendleton performed the role of Lebedev in a 1990 production at Yale Repertory. IVANOV, which stars Ethan Hawke, Joely Richardson and Juliet Rylance, and is directed by Pendleton, is currently in previews, prior to an official opening Sunday, November 4. The cast also features Glenn Fitzgerald, Annette Hunt, Stephanie Janssen, Roberta Maxwell, George Morfogen, James Patrick Nelson, Anthony Newfield, Jonathan Marc Sherman, and Anne Troupe. IVANOV will play a limited engagement through Sunday, December 9.

Today, October 1, The Pearl Theatre Company celebrates the opening of The Pearl Theatre (555 West 42nd Street), its first permanent home, with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a benefit reading of James Thurber's A Thurber Carnival, arranged and directed by Michael McKean, who will also perform. The reading's all-star cast also includes Jason Butler Harner, Jackie Hoffman, Elizabeth Marvel, Dakin Matthews, Maryann Plunkett, Jay O. Sanders, and Annette O'Toole.

Lincoln Center's Other Desert Cities, by Jon Robin Baitz, directed by Joe Mantello, will end its limited engagement as scheduled on Sunday, June 17, 2012.

Violinist and artistic director Gil Morgenstern's acclaimed Reflections Series celebrates five years of innovative programming in its intimate home at WMP Concert Hall (31 East 28th Street, NYC), described by New York Magazine as, "a miniature version of a European aristocrat's music room." Due to the success of the series, most programs will now have two performances. Season tickets are now available. Those who purchase by June 30 will be invited to a VIP Opening Night Party on September 12.

Thomas Sadoski returns to the role of Tripp Wyeth in Jon Robin Baitz's critically acclaimed new play OTHER DESERT CITIES, directed by Joe Mantello, beginning tonight, May 8 at 7 pm at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45 Street), joining co-stars Stockard Channing, Stacy Keach, Judith Light, and Elizabeth Marvel.
