Dave Malloy's new musical Preludes, currently playing Off-Broadway at Lincoln Center Theater's Claire Tow Theater, has been extended for an additional two weeks.

Musical Theater Factory will be hosting a party to celebrate the success of its first year. Since its founding in May 2104, the non profit organization has assisted in the development of more than sixty new musicals, with the help of seven hundred volunteers.

Yaddo has announced that the second annual Yaddo Artist Medal will be presented to influential avant-garde composer and performance artist Laurie Anderson at its New York City Benefit on Monday, June 1, 2015. The event at the Tribeca Rooftop (2 Desbrosses St.) will be hosted by actor/director Steve Buscemi and Kate Valk of The Wooster Group. Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar, Obie Award winner Eisa Davis, and Obie Award winner Young Jean Lee-all Yaddo Artists-will perform.

The New Black Fest, a theater organization celebrating provocative storytelling, music and discussion from the African Diaspora, is proud to announce The New Black Fest at The Lark.

The Lion, the gripping, highly acclaimed autobiographical solo show written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer, opened last night, February 8th, at the Lynn Redgrave Theater at Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street). Directed by Sean Daniels, The Lion will play an extended engagement Off-Broadway through March 29th, following an award-winning run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and sold-out productions at the Manhattan Theatre Club and London's St. James Theatre. The Geffen Playhouse's Westwood footprint is expanding. The not-for-profit's largest growth came nearly a decade ago with the renovation of the original 10886 Le Conte address and opening of the adjoining Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse. The last few years have seen an increase from five to eight season productions plus added special events and augmented education and community outreach programs. The result: a significant increase in demand for real estate in one of the busiest commercial districts in Los Angeles.

People's Light has announced that it has been awarded $60,000 by the National Endowment of the Arts to support its New Play Frontiers program. New Play Frontiers (NPF) is an initiative to conceive, develop, and produce new plays that explore our American identity through stories of deep meaning to specific populations in our region of southeastern PA. Central to this effort are partnerships with local cultural, civic, religious, and academic organizations to help identify individuals and events from the past and present that are significant to our neighbors and embody a broader American story.
