The York Theatre Company Presents Reading Of New Musical TYRANTS

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and the rediscovery of musical gems from the past, as part of its acclaimed NEO Reading Series, an ever-growing, one-of-a-kind program dedicated to helping and propelling new, emerging, and outstanding musical theatre writers, in association with Penn State Musical Theatre, will present a staged reading of the new musical Tyrants, with music and lyrics by 2017-2018 NEO writer Alexander Sage Oyen and book by S.P. Monahan (Diva: Live From Hell) for ONE PERFORMANCE ONLY on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Written and directed by Angela Iannone, and featuring Theater RED alumni and Chicago-based actor and playwright Jared McDaris, 'This Prison Where I Live' marks the second collaboration between Theater RED and Iannone as a playwright and director, after 2015's critically acclaimed The Seeds of Banquo.

Advance tickets are $18 general admission, $15 for seniors and students; at the door $21 and $18, respectively. $15 early bird tickets are available until June 20th. Lethabo Mofomme Named Rising Star Winner

The Rising Star Competition, created by leaders of the legendary Rehearsal Club for their 105th Anniversary Celebration, was held at The Players on June 22, 2018. Lethabo Mofomme, a 2018 graduate of the NY Film Academy's Musical Theatre Conservatory received the exclusive 'RC Key,' designed to open the door of opportunity, and a cash prize.

American Vicarious Presents the World Premiere of PUSHKIN

The american vicarious will present the world premiere of Jonathan Leaf's Pushkin. This limited Off-Broadway engagement will begin performances on July 25th and continue through August 25th only, at at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture (18 Bleecker Street). Opening Night is scheduled  for August 5th. The performance runs 90 minutes with no intermission.

The Guthrie Theater (Joseph Haj, artistic director) announced it will present BAD NEWS! i was there… created and directed by JoAnne Akalaitis with Kate Atwell, Greg Taubman and Ashley Tata with original music and sound by Bruce Odland. Playing June 2-3, 2018, for four performances only, this unique theater experience will take place in the Guthrie lobbies in promenade style, which requires patrons to stand and walk during the performance. A limited number of chairs will be available for accessible seating.
