New Adventures are delighted to announce the full cast and further tour dates for the first revival of Matthew Bourne's "SLEEPING BEAUTY" opening at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth on Saturday 17 October 2015 with an eight week Christmas season at Sadler's Wells from Tuesday 1 December 2015 to Saturday 24 January 2016. Burkmar was shortlisted with six other emerging choreographers: Corey Baker, Tara D'Arquian, Alexandra Green, Eleesha Drennan, Andrew McNicol and Matt Nicholson. New York City Center today announced three diverse dance engagements which complete programming for the 2015-16 season.

Matthew Bourne announced today the third New Adventures Choreographer Award (NACA). Open to emerging choreographers of all ages, NACA follows the success of the 2012 and 2014 awards that helped launch the choreographic careers of James Cousins, Tom Jackson-Greaves and John Ross. In addition to the showcase awards in 2014 the judges made an additional award to Sally Marie to fund a Producer for 12 months and a Commissioning Award to Caroline Finn in partnership with Phoenix Dance Theatre. In June 2015 Finn was announced as the new Artistic Director of National Dance Company Wales.

This summer's hot dance ticket will be the ARDANI 25 DANCE GALA at the Coliseum on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th July, presented by producer and impresario Sergei Danilian (Ardani Artists). The evening features an all-star line-up including Natalia Osipova, Edward Watson, Ivan Vasiliev, Marcelo Gomes, Denis Matvienko, Joaquin De Luz and Friedemann Vogel in three exciting and diverse contemporary pieces.

World's largest dance network and international student ballet scholarship audition - YOUTH AMERICA GRAND PRIX – will present its signature “Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow” annual Gala at the David H. Koch Theater, Lincoln Center. The Gala will feature the finalists of the international ballet competition performing alongside today's most celebrated ballet stars – many of whom are alumni of YAGP.

Richard Bean's new play Great Britain opened in the West End on September 26,following a sell-out run at the National Theatre. With a cast led by Lucy Punch andRobert Glenister, Nicholas Hytner's production now continues at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in a strictly limited season to 10 January 2015. New York City Ballet Principal Dancer Wendy Whelan will bid farewell to New York City Ballet with a special one-time-only performance on Saturday, October 18 at 8 p.m. For the occasion, two of the dance world's most acclaimed choreographers, Alexei Ratmansky and Christopher Wheeldon, will collaborate on a world premiere piece d'occasion for Whelan.

Wendy Whelan, whom The New York Times has called 'America's greatest contemporary ballerina,' has danced with New York City Ballet for nearly 30 years. With the company, she has mastered Balanchine's neo-classical repertory, dance classics such as Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake and created works with many of today's leading choreographers. Following hip surgery and a successful recovery period, Whelan, 46, will return to City Ballet this spring season and will dance her final performance with the company on October 18.

Wendy Whelan, principal dancer of New York City Ballet, will give her final performance on Oct. 18 after 30 years with the company.

One of the most iconic and recognizable 19th century novels, Lewis Carroll's literary masterpiece ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND has been translated into countless iterations over the nearly 150 years since its debut, yet the new Fathom Events presentation of noted director/choreographer Christopher Wheeldon's incredibly imaginative and vivid ballet production may be the most satisfying yet.

I wanted to read Kafka's Metamorphosis before attending the Royal Ballet's production bearing the same name. But my own Kafkesque world intervened, so I never had the chance to follow Gregor and his transformation from human being to bug. I can only judge the production on its own merits, and not compare it to the book which, I think, is only fair.

The opening night reception of the highly anticipated U.S. premiere of the Royal Ballet's production of The Metamorphosis at The Joyce Theater, starring acclaimed Royal Ballet principal dancer Edward Watson, directed/choreographed by Arthur Pita, is set for Tuesday, September 17 at 9:15pm at the Chelsea restaurant (address given upon RSVP).
