Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund today joins millions of LGBTQ Americans and our allies in voicing our sorrow that LGBTQ Rights champion Edie Windsor has passed away. Edie's landmark case, United States v. Windsor, overturned the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act, bringing federal rights to LGBTQ married couples in 13 states and the District of Columbia, and paving the way for subsequent cases that brought marriage protections to same-sex couples nationwide.

The Trevor Project will present musician Dan Reynolds with the Trevor Hero Honoree, Deloitte with 20/20 Award, and marriage equality champion Edie Windsor with the Icon Award at the TrevorLIVE New York 2017 fundraiser to raise awareness of suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ youth. The event will also feature performances by Shoshana Bean, Dana Goldberg, Jeremy Jordan, and a special extended performance by Grammy Award-winning rock band, Imagine Dragons.

Celebrity Chef Lidia Bastianich and Equal Rights Activist Edie Windsor who recently paid a visit to The York Theatre Company production of the Off-Broadway premiere of the new musical Marry Harry, with book by Jennifer Robbins and music and lyrics by Dan Martin and Michael Biello. The composers of Marry Harry have composed a number in the show titled 'Lidia' dedicated to the celebrity chef who was on hand to hear an encore presentation by the cast. The Imperial Court of New York's Raise Your Voice II benefit concert took place on July 11, 2016 and was hosted by Gary Cosgrove and Doris Dear.
The concert featured entertainment-world heavyweights from Broadway and Cabaret for a night of song and solidarity benefitting the OneOrlando Fund (www.oneorlando.org). The purpose of the Fund is to provide much needed support to the victims of the Pulse tragedy and their families.
