The YALE INSTITUTE FOR MUSIC THEATRE announces the creative teams and casting for the two original book musicals, Blessing, music and lyrics by Andrew R. Butler and book by Andrew Farmer, and The White City, music by Avi Amon and book and lyrics by Julia Gytri, which will be developed in an intensive two-week summer lab at Yale School of Drama, June 13-25.

On May 2nd, The 52nd Street Project held their annual benefit, LAUGHING MATTERS, Kids' Stand-up, Adults Deliver at the Edison Ballroom in New York. The raucous sold-out event hosted by comedians Lewis Black and Kathleen Madigan, was The Project's most successful to date with over 350 people in attendance, raising funds for the Project's academic and artistic mentoring programming. The Project makes a difference in the lives of Hell's Kitchen (Clinton) kids by pairing them with theater professionals who mentor them through the creation of original theater. American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff is thrilled to announce the appointment of Andy Donald as the company's new Associate Artistic Director. Andy will take on producing and presenting duties within the artistic department, as well as taking the lead in the commissioning and development of new work. After a sold-out concert in 2013, Jonathan Larson and Mary Rodgers/Lorenz Hart Award winners Charlie Sohne & Tim Rosser came back to the Feinstein's/54 Below stage for the first time in over 2 years. Audiences heard selections from some of their latest projects including Run Away Home, Talk To Me, The Boy Who Danced on Air, and their new slash fiction boy band pilot Truth Slash Fiction.

Butler and book by Andrew Farmer, directed by Kent Nicholson; and The White City, music by Avi Amon and book and lyrics by Julia Gytri, directed by Mark Brokaw. The 2016 Institute, which runs June 12-25 at Yale School of Drama, will culminate with open rehearsal readings of each project, presented as part of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, on June 24 and 25.

The 52nd Street Project makes a difference in the lives of countless Hell's Kitchen (Clinton) kids by pairing them with theater professionals who mentor them through the creation of original theater. Perhaps the most poignant presentations made by The 52nd Street Project are those in its semi-annual Playmaking series, which features the Project's youngest Hell's Kitchen mentees-ten year-olds who have just begun their theatrical education-writing for accomplished professional actors and revealing their work to a public audience for the first time. Accomplished professional actors including Dan Butler, Carson Elrod, Daniel Jenkins, Matt Saldivar and others will perform in Fresh Start: The Rejuvenation Plays, the Project's Spring 2016 Playmaking show.
