Alexandra Silber Set to Lead Vineyard Theatre's ARLINGTON

Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) has announced the dates, creative team and leading actress for its next production - the new musical ARLINGTON by Victor Lodato and Polly Pen - with previews set to begin Wednesday, February 12 prior to its official opening night on Sunday, March 2, according to Douglas Aibel, Artistic Director, and Sarah Stern, Co-Artistic Director.

Center Stage to Present BACKSTAGE @ CENTER STAGE and THE CONTAINER at Baltimore Book Festival, 9/27-28

The Baltimore Book Festival arrives in Mount Vernon on September 27, and Center Stage will participate all weekend long. On Saturday, September 28, the Theater will once again open its doors during the festival for Backstage @ Center Stage. Families can join Center Stage staff, artists, and volunteers for the annual, free open house that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the theater.

2013 Philadelphia Fringe Festival Kicks Off Today

Taking place today, September 5-22, the 2013 Fringe Festival presented by FringeArts (formerly known as the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe) is bigger and better than ever in its 17th year, with a brand-new headquarters on the Delaware River Waterfront and 18 days of both presented and neighborhood performances in cutting-Edge Theater, dance, music, visual and multidisciplinary arts. This year's lineup of Presented Fringe includes seven International Artists, four world premieres and two reimagined productions from previous Fringe Festivals.

Center Stage Announces THIRD SPACE(S) Artistic Initiative

Center Stage announced this week a new artistic initiative, Third Space(s), a series of performances that bring new and experimental work and unconventional stagings of classics into unexpected locations. Three Third Space(s) productions are planned during the 2013-14 Season.

Colorado Community Theatre Coalition to Host 25th Annual Theatre Festival, 8/7-10

The Colorado Community Theatre Coalition, a statewide organization to promote and enrich community theatre in Colorado, will be hosting its 25th Annual Theatre Festival August 7 - 10 at the Denver Center Theatre Academy in the Robert and Judi Newman Center for Theatre Education, 1101 13th Street, Denver, CO 80204, right across the street from the Denver Performing Arts Complex. The festival offers performances of nine shows from community theatres across the state, twelve creative and informative workshops, an opportunity to participate in an acting competition, and a chance to network with fellow theatre lovers and experts from around Colorado. Full registration for the festival is $65 for adults and $50 for students. Tickets are also available for individual shows and workshops. FringeArts (formerly known as the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe) has announced that tickets for the 2013 Fringe Festival's Presented Fringe performances are now on sale. Taking place September 5-22, the 17th annual festival is bigger and better than ever, with 18 days of cutting-edge theater, dance, music, visual and multidisciplinary arts. This year's Presented Fringe lineup includes seven international artists, four world premieres, two reimagined productions from previous Fringe Festivals, and three commissioned works as part of a new visual arts programming initiative at FringeArts.

A.R.T., Half Straddle and More Join The Exchange's 2013 Orchard Project, Now thru 6/29

The Exchange's Artistic Director, Ari Edelson, has announced the artists and companies who participating in the 2013 Orchard Project Summer Residencies. An unprecedented twenty-one companies, teams, and individual artists have been selected from hundreds of applicants to develop new work at The Exchange's Orchard Project. The Orchard Project (Ari Edelson, Artistic Director, Dean Strober, Executive Director) runs now through June 29, 2013 in New York's Catskill Mountain Preserve.

Artistic Director David Winitsky and Producer Jenny Levison, of the Jewish Plays Project have announced the plays that have been chosen for OPEN: The Festival of New Jewish Theater at the 14th Street Y. The performances and readings of these plays will be held today, June 10-30, 2013 at the Theater at 14th Street Y, 344 East 14th Street (between 1st and 2nd Ave), New York, NY.

Terry Kinney to Direct Broadway-Bound REAR WINDOW; Full Creative Team Announced!

The forthcoming Broadway production REAR WINDOW has found its creative team in playwright Keith Reddin(Too Much Memory, Life and Limb) and director Terry Kinney (reasons to be pretty, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest). The play will be adapted from Cornell Woolrich's original short story, the iconic and haunting tale of the wheelchair-bound witness to a possible murder in his neighboring New York City apartment.

Producer Rocco Landesman Joins St. Louis Walk of Fame

Broadway producer Rocco Landesman was born and raised in St. Louis, where his family owned the Crystal Palace, a Gaslight Square cabaret that featured cutting edge theater and performers. Landesman developed and produced the Broadway musical Big River, which won 7 Tony Awards in 1985.

Public Theater Announces 2013-14 Season; Jeanine Tesori's FUN HOME Musical, Richard Nelson's REGULAR SINGING Included in Line-Up!

Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham announced the line-up today for The Public's 2013-2014 season, continuing the theater's nearly 60 year tradition of producing Shakespeare and the classics, musicals, contemporary and experimental works in equal measure while engaging a wide range of audiences and artists at its six downtown theaters at Astor Place, including Joe's Pub, as well as the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The Public's 58th season will also celebrate the 10th anniversary of the acclaimed Under the Radar Festival and the 15th anniversary of the world-renowned Joe's Pub. 'This season - whether classics, new plays, musicals or experimental ensembles - speaks to the way we live now,' said Artistic Director Oskar Eustis.
