American Blues Theater (ABT) Chicago's second oldest Equity ensemble company, today announced its 2009-2010 Season. The award-winning ensemble-based company will open its 24th season under its original name with a symbolic return to its first artistic home, Victory Gardens Theater, for 'It's a Wonderful Life: Live at the Biograph!'
Goodman Theatre proudly extends Animal Crackers through November 1, 2009. Director Henry Wishcamper's production of this rarely staged Marx Brothers classic musical has been hailed 'pure pleasure' (Time Out Chicago) in which 'not a minute goes by when the audience isn't being awed by the spectacle (and) astonished by the breakneck comic mayhem.' Spaulding'-the heightened vaudevillian persona created by Groucho Marx for the 1929 stage and screen original-in Goodman Theatre's season opening musical Animal Crackers, written by George S. Twenty-three members of American Theater Company ensemble today announced that they are no longer a part of the American Theater Company organization. Chicago's second oldest ensemble based company is continuing on as American Blues Theatre, which was founded in 1985.
