The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), the largest multi-arts festival in North America, will present the 17th Annual Festival from August 9 - 25, 2013. Each year the festival presents programming by nearly 200 of the world's best emerging theatre troupes and dance companies. General FringeNYC applications are being accepted for participants in all genres (theatre, dance, puppetry, performance art, multi-media, etc.), and separate FringeAL FRESCO (free outdoor events) and FringeJR (children's programming) applications are also available.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is now accepting scripts for its 8th Annual Young Playwrights Festival to be held May 10-12, 2013. Following the festival's great success over the past seven years, the O'Neill will again work with local high school and middle school students to develop and stage readings of selected original one-act plays. Scripts will be accepted through February 25, 2013.

Michael Shannon is currently making his Broadway debut in the hit drama GRACE. The talented actor stopped by 'Good Day NY' this morning to chat about the show. When asked if working with legendary actor Ed Asner was comparable to playing tennis with Andre Agassi, the actor joked, 'With him, it's more like Billy Jean King,' but quickly added, 'No, we love Ed.' The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall announces its Legendary 2012-2013 Season, including some of the biggest and stars in entertainment. Sarasota premieres feature Sheryl Crow, John Legend, Queen Latifah, Celtic Woman and John Lithgow while returning favorites include Diana Krall, Glen Campbell, The Beach Boys, Paul Anka, Johnny Mathis, Dave Koz and Natalie Cole.

The Castillo Theatre continues its presentation of four winning scripts from the 2012 Mario Fratti-Fred Newman Political Play Contest, selected from more than 200 entries including submissions by playwrights from around the world. The plays are being directed by distinguished theatre professionals and the final production plays tonight, August 27 at 7:00 p.m.

The Fireside Dinner Theatre presents HELLO DOLLY, Directed by Ed Flesch, running tonight, August 23 - October 21, 2012.
