The Laguna Playhouse Executive and Artistic Directors, Karen Wood and Ann E. Wareham are thrilled to present Ed Asner, recipient of seven Emmy Awards ('Mary Tyler Moore Show', 'Lou Grant') and 16 nominations, five Golden Globe Awards, and member of the TV Academy Hall of Fame, starring in the solo performance drama, FDR, based upon Dore Schary's Broadway hit 'Sunrise at Campobello', which ran 70 weeks on Broadway.

Actress Angela McEwan, known for her role in the Academy Award-nominated film “Nebraska,” has joined the cast of the HBO comedy “Getting On.” The show is set to premiere at 10:30 p.m. Eastern/Pacific on Sunday, Nov. 9. McEwan will play the recurring role of Ellen, an older patient at the hospital opposite Alex Borstein (“Family Guy,”), Laurie Metcalf (“Roseanne”) and Niecy Nash (“Reno 911”).

The 2014 honorees have impacted the success of CPH through their wide-ranging achievements. This year's recipients include Joe Garry, George Gund II, Maeve McGuire, and June Squibb. Receiving the Heritage Award for his contributions to CPH will be Nelson Isekeit. Honorary Co-Chairs for the event are long-time CPH supporters Bob Blattner and Betty Fredman.

Through the past five years, HAWAII FIVE-0 has often honored the original 'Hawaii Five-O' series with references to its predecessor hidden within the episodes. NBC is bringing in the holiday spirit with the stop-motion hourlong animated special “Elf: Buddy's Musical Christmas,” set to air Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 8 p.m. Based on the popular film “Elf” and the hit Broadway show “Elf: The Musical,” the special will star four-time Emmy Award winner Jim Parsons (“The Big Bang Theory”) as Buddy.

A magical new musical opens the Pacific Conservatory Theatre's 51st Season - the world premiere production of Renegade Animation's Christmas Is Here Again. This frolicsome adventure for the entire family is a new stage musical by Brad Carroll and Jeremy Mann based on the film of the same name written and directed by Robert Zappia. Christmas is Here Again plays in the Marian Theatre November 13 - December 24, 2014.

THE PIECE PROJECT and GREENWAY COURT THEATRE present an exclusive Los Angeles reading of Peter Quilter's 4000 DAYS on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 8pm. Founded by Devon Gummersall and Andrew Carlberg, THE PIECE PROJECT is a celebrity-based theater ensemble. Every two-three months, The Piece Project hosts a play reading to benefit a local Los Angeles theater company. Kritzerland Records' Nobody Does it Better... The songs of Dorothy Fields kicked off the month-long celebration on June 1st featuring Tara Browne, Cynthia Ferrer, Zachary Ford, Kim Huber, Jenna Lea Rosen, Sami Staitman, Sarah Staitman, Robert Yacko and Special Guest... Andrew Carlberg, in association with Ride on Theatre, presents an immersive, all new theatrical experience, The Blind Date Project, created by Bojana Novakovic and Mark Winter and directed by Scott Rodgers (in rotation with Tanya Goldberg and Mark Winter). Coming straight from sell out seasons around Australia, The Blind Date Project will open tonight, May 28 at 8pm and be an ongoing Wednesday night event at the Three Clubs 1123 N. Vine St. (at Santa Monica Blvd.) in Hollywood.

The studio confirmed the news today, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Wright co-wrote the script with Joe Cornish, and has been with the project since its initial development in 2006.
