Off-Broadway's award-winning Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director) proudly presents their annual holiday offering, this year a revival of Dylan Thomas's classic A CHILD'S CHRISTMAS IN WALES. Adapted and directed by Charlotte Moore, A CHILD'S CHRISTMAS IN WALES features two-time Tony Award-winner John Cullum. Performances begin Tuesday, November 24th, 2015. The Press Opening is now Sunday, December 6th. The limited holiday engagement will end on Sunday, January 3rd, 2016. Old Log Theatre's 2015/16 season opens with the regional premiere of Eric Coble's new dramatic comedy THE VELOCITY OF AUTUMN. This two person play takes place in a simple Brooklyn brownstone; 79-year-old Alexandra lives a solitary existence with her fleeting memories and is at an impasse with her family over how she should spend her autumn years. Alexandra's long-absent son enters as a most unlikely mediator, to try and save his mother's life as much as his own. Funny and sweet, aching and revelatory, this perceptive play reveals both the fragility and ferocity of life.
Playhouse on Park Welcomes New Teaching Artist for Young Actor Training Program

This class is open to middle school students (grades 5-8) who desire to improve their acting and performance technique. The Actor Performance Training Program is sectioned into three units, allowing for in-depth study of various acting topics. Students will begin with improvisation then they will learn how to create characters through Shakespearean text. For the final unit, students will be asked to incorporate what they have learned throughout the year into a devised theatre piece. The program will conclude with a showcase where they perform their original ensemble-generated performance.
