TheaterWorks Launches its 24th Season with 'Shakespeare's R&J', a provocative adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, running November 12th through December 20th. Called 'electrifying', 'magical', 'inspired', and 'dreamlike', 'Shakespeare's R&J' is Romeo and Juliet as it has never been seen before. Set in the repressed atmosphere of a modern Catholic boarding school, this brave and original adaptation spins the tale of 'star-cross'd lovers' into a journey of astonishing discoveries.
Toronto's The Stratford Shakespeare Festival has revealed the principal casting for its 2010 season. The stars include Christopher Plummer, Nikki M. James, Chilina Kennedy, Juan Chioran, Michael Therriault and Geraint Wyn Davies for the Festival's productions of The Tempest, Evita, Peter Pan and Do Not Go Gentle.

Last night, the Caffeine Theatre in association with the Chicago DCA Theater opened Dylan Thomas' 'Under Milk Wood' at the Storefront Theater. Thomas' dark 'Day in the Life' comedy about the fictional Welch town of 'Llareggub' explores the theme of isolation in an ever shrinking world, while still celebrating the glorious possibilities humanity offers. First broadcast in 1954 as a radio play, Director Paul S. Holmquist and a cast of nine bring to life over forty characters through fetes of physicality and a mastery of Thomas' language.
Christopher Plummer will return to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival next year to play Prospero in The Tempest, one of four Shakespeare plays scheduled for the 2010 season.

Malcolm Taylor will direct a cast led by Philip Madoc in Dylan Thomas' Under Milk Wood which runs at the Tricycle from 12 - 24 May, with press night on 14 May.
The Irish Repertory Theatre will present Dylan Thomas' A Child's Christmas in Wales & Twas the Night Before Christmas, adapted and directed by Charlotte Moore, with traditional and original music, December 5 - 30, 2007. Previews begin December 5. The official opening will be on December 13, 2007.
