Daniella Topol, the new artistic director of Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, heads down to Washington, D.C. to direct the world premiere of Jacqueline E. Lawton's new political thriller Intelligence set for Arena Stage, February 24 through April 9.

PIN* AND THE BLUE FAIRY is a new play in development with OUTLIERS Theatre Co, based on Collodi's classic The Adventures of Pinocchio. The play examines the wooden puppet's journey to become a proper boy through the eyes of a contemporary trans teenager named Blue. As Blue attempts to find their own path, they turn to Pin's tale, and their stories intertwine in a search for understanding, transformation, and personal truth.

The Bushwick Starr presents the world premiere of Frontieres sans Frontieres, a bold and boundless new play about borders, friendships, and the challenges of reinventing oneself in a world that seeks to limit and delineate you.

Blueberry Toast puts the 'dys' in family dysfunction beginning Sept. 17 at Atwater Village Theatre. Every family has a dark underbelly - especially the perfect ones. Walt (Albert Dayan) and Barb (Jacqueline Wright) may seem like your typical suburban couple with a fabulous eat-in kitchen and two precocious children (Michael Sturgis as Jack and Alexandra Freeman as Jill). The scary thing is… maybe they are.

The Bushwick Starr is proud to announce our 2016-17 Season of Programming. The Season begins with our developing work program, the Propeller Project, which this year introduces a new piece by eclectic performance artist, Shasta Geaux Pop, aka Ayesha Jordan (Enter & Exit, Living Room Dance Breaks). Our Main Stage shows feature an ambitious and exciting line-up of world premiers from: award-winning theater ensemble The Mad Ones (The Essential Straight & Narrow, The Tremendous Tremendous), celebrated downtown duo Kate Benson and Lee Sunday Evans (A Beautiful Day in November on the Banks of the Greatest of the Great Lakes), rising star playwright Phillip Howze(abominable, Tiny Boyfriend), and multi-media cult favorites Royal Osiris Karaoke Ensemble(Everything One in the Disc of the Sun). Our ongoing community events and festivals, Puppet Kitchen, Brooklyn Gypsies, and Big Green Theater, will continue to present new collaborative work geared towards our Bushwick neighborhood audience, including a multi-lingual partnership between playwright William Burke (Comfort Dogs, the food was terrible) and Modesto Flako Jimenez(Brooklyn Gypsies). And finally, our free Starr Reading Series will cultivate new plays in development from some of NYC's most exciting young playwrights.

Ars Nova, New York's incubator for boundary-pushing theater, is pleased to announce the line-up for its 9th Annual ANT Fest, which features new work from 42 trail-blazing artists over a four-week festival, June 6-30. This celebration of new, independent live entertainment is a prime destination for an eclectic mix of brand new shows from some of the most intrepid, adventurous artists in New York City.

The Obie Award-winning Foundry Theatre will continue its tradition of producing theater laced with radical politics by artists and thinkers at the forefront of experimentation with the world premiere of O, EARTH, tonight, January 23, through February 20, 2016 at HERE.

The new season will feature the Los Angeles premiere of Dry Land by Susan Blackburn Prize finalist Ruby Rae Spiegel, and four world premieres by Los Angeles-based playwrights including BED by Sheila Callaghan; Captain of the Bible Quiz Team by Tom Jacobson; One of the Nice Ones by Erik Patterson; and Blueberry Toast by Mary Laws.
