The gloves are off! One of the most highly anticipated new shows of the season, Gerard Alessandrini's FORBIDDEN BROADWAY COMES OUT SWINGING! opens Sunday, May 4th at 7PM at the newly refurbished Davenport Theatre (354 West 45th Street - between 8th and 9th Avenue). This up-to-the-minute new edition will include Alessandrini's takes on Hedwig, Idina Menzel, Rocky, Cabaret, The Bridges of Madison County, Aladdin, Pippin, the turntable-less Les Miz, Motown, The Sound of Music Live!, Bullets Over Broadway, Kinky Boots and Matilda, among others. Amas's Rosetta Lenoire Musical Theatre Teen Academy to Present 9 TO 5, 5/2-11

The Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) The Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy will present 9 to 5: The Musical, based on the 1980 20th Century Fox film and originally produced on Broadway by Robert Greenblatt. Directed by Christopher Scott with choreography by Monica Johnson and musical direction by Trevor Bachman, the production will feature 26 members of "The Teen Academy." Performances will begin on Friday, May 2, 2014 (and continue through May 11) at The Theatre at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street - between 1st & 2nd Aves). GREED: A Musical for Our Times will have its debut production by The Tank, Ltd from January 17 through February 5, 2014. With book, music, and lyrics by Michael Roberts, GREED's exploits range from the outrageous Ponzi scheme of 1910 to the subtle sales pitches of retirement planners and mortgage bundlers. With songs like "A Little Juice," "Inside Information," and "The Ballad of Jamie Dimon," GREED takes aim at the obvious, and not so obvious, targets.

?The Ogunquit Playhouse's revival of the legendary Bernstein-Sondheim-Laurents-Robbins classic, West Side Story, which opened September 5th pulsates with muscular energy and wrenching pathos. It is a production which makes the essence of the original creators palpable at the same time that it takes a fresh, vibrant - and, yes - touchingly relevant look at the material. To coincide with Cougar The Musical's one year anniversary this August, the original Cougar, creator and writer, Donna Moore will join the cast as Clarity for four performances only., taking over the role for Brenda Braxtonwho is out of town performing the role of Velma in Chicago at the California Music Circus. Moore is set to inherit the claws and scratch her way into audience's hearts on August 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th.
