Norman Shabel's A CLASS ACT to Premiere at The Playroom Theater

By:

A Class Act, the inaugural and relevant new play by attorney and playwright Norman Shabel will have its world premiere atThe Playroom Theater (151 West 46th Street - just east of Broadway). Performances will begin on Friday, Monday, March 21 at 8pm and continue in a limited engagement through April 13. **This is an Equity Approved Showcase.

In A Class Act, when a major chemical company pours cancer-causing waste into the water supply, a high-powered law firm brings a class action lawsuit on behalf of the thousands of people injured by or dying from the poisonous water consumption. Who wins? Who loses? Who makes millions whether they win or lose? Which lawyers battle the best... or the worst? Does the ordinary person ever realize justice in the end?

Directed by Christopher Scott*, the cast features Stephen Bradbury* (On Golden Pond, Melissa's Choice), Matthew DeCapua* (Come Blow Your Horn, Morning Star), Lou Liberatore* (As Is, Burn This), David Marantz* (Merry Wives Windsor, Twelfth Night), Nick Plakias* (Moby Dick--Rehearsed, The Miser), Jenny Strassburg* (The Importance of Being Earnest, The Great Gatsby), and Joris Stuyck* (Heather Smiley for President,The Road to Damascus).

The production team is Josh Iacovelli (scenic design), Dustin Cross (costume design), and Joan Racho-Jansen (lighting design) Jana Llynn* is Production Stage Manager.

"Almost every day I read on the front page of the major newspapers stories that are exactly parallel to A Class Act," says Mr. Shabel. "The world of industrial America is poisoning our world. And it is the powerless individual who is rarely able to find justice. I am afraid that all too often, Lady Justice really is blind."

The performance schedule for A Class Act will be: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 7:30pm. There will additional performances on Saturday, April 9 at 3pm and Wednesday, April 13 at 3pm.

Tickets are $18 and can be purchased online at www.AClassActThePlay.com or by calling OvationTix at 866-811-4111.
