THE MIRACLE WORKER, 'MADAGASCAR', Young Playwrights Festival and More Set for The Coterie's 2015-16 Season

At The Coterie, where there are no small characters, only big ideas and massive talent, the 2015/2016 season of plays selected by Producing Artistic Director Jeff Church aims to deliver engagement for family members of any age. One of the national leaders in producing theatre for youth and family audiences, The Coterie also enriches curriculum for schools looking for excellence in arts education. This coming season, The Coterie will have several productions where young theatre-goers will interact and participate during the performances.

Actors Co-op Opens Stephen Schwartz's THE BAKER'S WIFE Tonight

Actors Co-op (Ovation Award-Winner 2015 Best Intimate Theatre Musical for 110 in the Shade) is thrilled to announce the first show in its 2015-2016 season (and 24th year of producing theatrical excellence in Los Angeles!) with THE BAKER'S WIFE, book by Joseph Stein (Fiddler on the Roof, Zorba), music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell), musical direction by Jake Anthony, choreography by Julie Hall, produced by Kimi Walker and directed by Ovation Award-winner Richard Israel (110 in the Shade, Floyd Collins). THE BAKER'S WIFE opens tonight, September 18 at 8pm and run through Sunday, October 25 at the Actors Co-op David Schall Theatre, 1760 N. Gower St. (on the campus of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood) in Hollywood.

QPAC to Welcome Broadway Composer Stephen Schwartz This Month

Grammy and Oscar-winning composer Stephen Schwartz has captivated millions of theatre lovers with his iconic songs from Broadway musicals such as Wicked, Pippin, and The Baker's Wife. He will perform solos as well as duos and trios with friends, spanning the course of his magnificent 40-year career in Stephen Schwartz and Friends, at Queensborough's Performing Arts Theatre (QPAC) on September 27 at 3 pm.

CHF Hosts Benefit Evening & Public Program with Walter Isaacson Tonight

Chicago Humanities Festival (CHF) has announced its 26th Annual Benefit Evening tonight, September 15 at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago (N Michigan Ave at Delaware Pl). The Benefit Evening will feature author and Aspen Institute president Walter Isaacson in conversation with Mellody Hobson, president, Ariel Investments. Isaacson will participate in the CHF Benefit Evening following a public program at 5:30 p.m. the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago (126 E Chestnut St). Proceeds from both programs will directly advance the CHF's mission to create opportunities for people of all ages to support, enjoy, and explore the humanities. Additionally, proceeds from the event's paddle raise will support CHF's EdLab education and outreach initiatives.

Wanda Sykes to Perform at the Aronoff Center in Cincinnati, 12/11

CINCINNATI, OH - The Cincinnati Arts Association and Live Nation welcome WANDA SYKES to the Aronoff Center's Procter & Gamble Hall on Friday, December 11 at 8:00 PM. Wanda Sykes has been called 'one of the funniest stand-up comics' by her peers and ranks among Entertainment Weekly's '25 Funniest People in America.' Her smart-witted stand up has sent her career in many different directions, from TV to film to books. The show is part of CAA'S 2015-16 Season, celebrating the 20thAnniversary of the Aronoff Center.

City Lit Theater Sets 36th Season

Nicholas Meyer's The Seven-Per-Cent Solution, in a world premiere adaptation by City Lit Artistic Director Terry McCabe and directed by Warner Crocker, will open City Lit Theater's thirty-sixth season, McCabe announced today.
