SCERA to Host 10th Anniversary of DANCING UNDER THE STARS, 8/21-22

Next spring, Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Billy Porter, Brandon Victor Dixon, and Joshua Henry will star in SHUFFLE ALONG Or The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed, a striking new production that presents both the 1921 musical itself, and additionally details the events that catalyzed the songwriting team of Noble Sissle and Eubie Blake, and librettists F.E. Miller and Aubrey Lyles to create this ground-breaking work.

DreamWorks Animation Posts Second Quarter 2015 Results

DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. (DWA) today reported revenues for the quarter ended June 30, 2015 of $170.8 million, representing an increase of 39.7% from the same period in 2014. In addition, DWA reported an adjusted (b) operating loss of ($1.0) million and adjusted (b) net loss attributable to DWA of ($11.6) million or an adjusted (b) loss of ($0.13) per share. Adjusted financial results exclude a $20.9 million pre-tax charge associated with Company's Restructuring Plan announced on January 22, 2015.

Maureen McGovern to Play George Street Playhouse, 9/16

George Street Playhouse announced today that award-winning vocalist MAUREEN McGOVERN will make a special appearance at the New Brunswick theatre on Wednesday, September 16 at 8pm.  Joined on stage by her music director JEFF HARRIS, Ms. McGovern will offer selections from her newest show and upcoming CD, Sing, My Sisters, Sing!

CHF to Host Benefit Evening & Public Program with Walter Isaacson, 9/15

Chicago Humanities Festival (CHF) has announced its 26th Annual Benefit Evening on Tuesday, September 15 at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago (N Michigan Ave at Delaware Pl). The Benefit Evening will feature author and Aspen Institute president Walter Isaacson in conversation with Mellody Hobson, president, Ariel Investments. Isaacson will participate in the CHF Benefit Evening following a public program at 5:30 p.m. the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago (126 E Chestnut St). Proceeds from both programs will directly advance the CHF's mission to create opportunities for people of all ages to support, enjoy, and explore the humanities. Additionally, proceeds from the event's paddle raise will support CHF's EdLab education and outreach initiatives.

Rooftop Films to Offer Three Free Screenings at Brookfield Place

Rooftop Films and Arts Brookfield will be co-presenting three free screenings on the Waterfront Plaza at Brookfield Place (formerly World Financial Center). The screenings will take place July 30th, 31st and August 1st, with live musical performances preceding each of the films.
