PUNK GRANDPA Begins Tonight at FRIGID New York

FRIGID New York presents A Glitter Candy production, PUNK GRANDPA by Laura Force Scruggs, this month at UNDER St. Marks (94 St Marks Pl. New York, NY 10009).

PRETTY HUNGER and TEENAGE DICK Set for Public Studio This Spring

In this third year, PUBLIC STUDIO will present PRETTY HUNGER by Public Theater Emerging Writers Group alumna Patricia Ione Lloyd, directed by Martha Banta, running March 10 through March 19. The second show, TEENAGE DICK by Mike Lew, will be directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel and run March 24 through April 2.

August Strindberg Repertory to Stage DAMASCUS II, 3/12-4/2

 From March 12 to April 2, August Strindberg Repertory will present Strindberg's 'Damascus II,' adapted by Edgar Chisholm, directed by Robert Greer. This is the second installment of the three-part work in which Strindberg first introduced true surrealism to the stage in the theatrical representation of the dream. Strindberg's tale of life in decadent artists' circles of 1890s Sweden will be brought to life in 1960s California and its leading character, an alienated writer, has been re-envisioned as an author modeled on Amiri Baraka.

Spiro and Kind Join Tompsett In Phoenix West End Transfer Of GUYS AND DOLLS!

Following critical acclaim at the Savoy Theatre, the Chichester Festival Theatre revival of Guys and Dolls will be extending its run at the Phoenix Theatre from 19 March 2016. Casting for the West End extension includes multiple Olivier Award-winning actress Samantha Spiro (Hello Dolly) as Miss Adelaide, Richard Kind (Disney/Pixar's BAFTA award-wining Inside Out) as Nathan Detroit and Oliver Tompsett (Wicked) as Sky Masterson. Continuing in their roles from the Savoy to the Phoenix Theatre are Siubhan Harrison as Sarah Brown, and Gavin Spokes as Nicely Nicely Johnson.

Davis & Cohen's BRIDGES: A NEW MUSICAL Premieres at Berkeley Playhouse Tonight

Berkeley Playhouse presents the world premiere of BRIDGES: A NEW MUSICAL, with lyrics and book by Cheryl L. Davis (2009 Writers' Guild Award winner and Daytime Emmy Award nominee for As the World Turns), composed by Douglas J. Cohen (2005 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lyrics for Off-Broadway's Children's Letters to God, Richard Rodgers Grants and the Gilman & Conzalez-Falla Theatre Foundation Award for Off-Broadway's No Way to Treat a Lady), and conceived by Founding Artistic Director Elizabeth McKoy (developer of new musical theatre works for Berkeley Playhouse including: Born And Raised, Bravado, and Just So Stories).

Austin Pendleton to Direct LUNA GALE at Cleveland Play House

Cleveland Play House's (CPH) monumental 100th Season continues with the regional premiere of LUNA GALE. CPH welcomes back film and stage legend Austin Pendleton to direct this contemporary drama that begs the question 'To whom do you belong?' Written by Rebecca Gilman, recipient of the 2015 Roe Green Award, LUNA GALE runs February 27 - March 20 in the intimate Allen Theatre.

NCTC to Stage Hit Comedy BUYER & CELLAR, Starring J. Conrad Frank

This spring, the hilarious Off-Broadway hit, Buyer and Cellar by Jonathan Tolins comes to NCTC, starring acclaimed performer and frequent NCTC collaborator, J. Conrad Frank, most recently at NCTC with his acclaimed performance in Charles Busch's Die Mommie Die!. Rebecca Longworth directs. In this uproarious comedy, an unemployed actor is thrust into a close relationship with Barbra Streisand when he is hired to watch over a mall of shoppes she has built in a cellar on her Malibu compound. Soon it begins to take a toll on his patience, his love life, and his view of people (who need people). As Entertainment Weekly declares, 'This show will go down like 'butta'!'

Aurin Squire's DON'T SMOKE IN BED to Premiere at Finborough Theatre

Following the success of last year's production of Obama-ology, multi-award-winning African-American playwright Aurin Squire returns to the Finborough Theatre with another world premiere - DON'T SMOKE IN BED, running at the Finborough Theatre, playing Sunday and Monday evening and Tuesday matinee performances from Sunday, 6 March 2016 (Press Night: Monday, 7 March 2016 at 7.30pm).

Bartlett Sher to Direct J.T. Rogers' OSLO Off-Broadway at Lincoln Center

Lincoln Center Theater  will produce OSLO, a new play by J.T. Rogers, directed by Bartlett Sher, beginning performances Thursday, June 16.   Commissioned by Lincoln Center Theater, OSLO will open Monday, July 11 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street).
