FOCUS DANCE is a part of FOCUS 2013, the National Platform to promote American dance both abroad and nationally. The week-long platform presents performances of U.S.-based dance companies during the annual Arts Presenters Conference in New York City, and one of the largest gatherings of artists, dancers and dance professionals in the U.S. From January 8-14, 2013, four venues partner with Gotham Arts Exchange to present the artistic visions of five curators gathered to shape this year's edition:

Dance from the Heart returns to New York City' on Monday, January 28 and Tuesday, January 29, 2013 with shows at 6:30pm & 8:30pm each night at Cedar Lake Theater, 547 W. 26th Street in Manhattan's West Chelsea Historic District. The exciting benefit will feature performances by more than a dozen of the most diverse dancers, dance companies and choreographers working today.

Due to popular demand Vassar & New York Stage and Film's Powerhouse Theater is adding an additional workshop performance tonight, July 29 at 7:30pm of the new indie rock musical Murder Ballad by Julia Jordan & Juliana Nash, directed by Trip Cullman. The cast features Tony nominees Daniel Breaker (Passing Strange; Shrek: The Musical) and Will Swenson (Hair; Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as well as Dee Roscioli (Wicked) and Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot; Passing Strange).
