10 Hairy Legs, the all-male repertory dance company extends its footprint during its seventh season of performances and educational programming, appearing in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, New York, Maine, Maryland and Rhode Island as well as in its home state of New Jersey.

Highly acclaimed for her "fierce choreographic imagination" (The New York Times), Netta Yerushalmy makes her Pillow debut with the world premiere of Paramodernities, August 8-12. By deconstructing and re-examining iconic works by choreographers Vaslav Nijinsky, Martha Graham, Alvin Ailey, Merce Cunningham, Bob Fosse, and George Balanchine, Yerushalmy dismantles the modern tradition with both reverence and intensity. Performed by a diverse cast of dancers alongside contributions by scholars and writers, Paramodernities assembles some of today's best and brightest minds to bridge the sometimes disparate worlds of dance and academia.

Last night, Live Source Theatre Group (Tyler Mercer, Co-Founder & Executive Artistic Director; Chris Dieman, Co-Founder & Artist in Residence) held its annualSpring Gala, honoring designers Reid Bartelme and Harriet Jung for their outstanding contribution to costume design.  Bartelme and Jung, co-founders of the costume and fashion design company Reid & Harriet, have designed costumes for Justin Peck, Pontus Lidberg, Marcelo Gomes, Pam Tanowitz, Emery Lecrone, Kyle Abraham, Mauro Bigonzetti, and Doug Varone. They have costumed productions at American Ballet Theater, New York City Ballet, Miami City Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet. Along with Justin Peck, they are featured in the documentary Ballet 422 which premiered at the 2014 TriBeCa Film Festival.

The American Dance Festival (ADF) kicks off its 85th anniversary season on Thursday, June 14 at 7:00pm at Reynolds Industries Theater with the return of Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC) performing classic repertoire and a new ADF-commissioned piece by Abby Zbikowski.

Next month ODC Theater provides an early kickoff to the summer with the seventh anniversary of its signature dance festival. Highlights include a West Coast premiere from filmmaker and choreographer Yara Travieso, the Bay Area solo debut of Toronto native Belinda McGuire and a world premiere from Kiandanda Dance Theater.

10 Hairy Legs, the all male repertory dance company, dèbuts at Baryshnikov Arts Center for its sixth consecutive New York Season for four performances June 7 -10. The program features World Premieres by Bessie Award Nominee and company member Nicholas Sciscione, and Yin Yue. Works by Al Blackstone, Raja Feather Kelly and Christopher Williams complete the program. Sciscione will perform his solo work and Ofer Pelz his original composition at all performances. Tickets are $25 for Adults and $20 for Students and Groups of 10 or more through 10HL.org.

The Center for Ballet and the Arts at New York University (CBA), the first international institute devoted to the creation and academic study of ballet, today announced the 27 artists and scholars who will serve as CBA Fellows in the 2018-19 academic year. The group - which represents The Center's largest and most far-reaching cohort yet - features distinguished individuals in a range of disciplines, including scholar Cecile Feza Bushidi, lighting designer Brandon Stirling Baker, choreographer Chase Brock, choreographer, filmmaker, and dancer Pontus Lidberg, and scholar Janice Ross, among others.

The Limon Dance Company returns to The Joyce Theater with a major revival of Limon's magnificent 'Missa Brevis,' set to Zoltan Kodaly's Missa Brevis in Tempore Belli, and joined by international guest dancers Carolina Avendano and Terry Springer from Venezuela's CoreoArte and Kirsten Foote and Julian Nichols from Canada; Limon's 'The Unsung,' for an all-male cast; Artistic Director Colin Connor's new 'The Body is a House Without Walls,' for an all-female cast; and three short works commissioned by the Limon Company by exceptional young choreographers Rosie Herrera, Adam Baruch, and Yin Yue.

10 Hairy Legs returns to New Brunswick for its sixth consecutive season at a new location. Tickets for the weeknight show are $10 General Admission.  Tickets: 10HL.org. The evening features works performed in 10 states during the company's national tour in the fall and winter, including debuts at The Kravis Center in West Palm Beach and Dance Place in Washington, DC, and a Preview of a World Premiere by Yin Yue that will debut at the company's 2018 New York Season at Baryshnikov Arts Center. Faye Driscoll, hailed as “a postmillenium postmodern wild woman” (Deborah Jowitt, The Village Voice) for her work that is a “tour de force of performance and direction” (Brian Seibert, The New York Times), receives the 12th Annual Jacob's Pillow Dance Award. The Bessie Award-winning choreographer, director, and alumnus of The School at Jacob's Pillow joins a group of honorees that includes Annie-B Parson and Paul Lazar of Big Dance Theater, Kyle Abraham of Abraham.in.Motion, Michelle Dorrance of Dorrance Dance, Camille A. Brown of Camille A. Brown & Dancers, and Liz Lerman of Dance Exchange. The Award will be formally presented as part of the Jacob's Pillow Season Opening Gala on June 16, 2018 followed by the presentation of Driscoll's work at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival for the second consecutive summer, August 1–5.

George Mason University is a bit of a trek when discussing arts organizations in the DMV area. If Saturday night's School of Dance Fete and Gala Concert is any indicator, then this trek is worth making. Celebrating the strides Mason's (still young) dance program has made in recent years, the evening was a unique combination of educational panels and dance showcases. With four moving performances capping off the evening, Mason's dance program cements itself as one to not be underestimated.
