MOLLY SWEENEY, Songwriter Showcase & More Set for The Human Race Theatre Company's Festival of New Musicals

The Human Race Theatre Company's mission to further the development of new works takes center stage with its summer Festival of New Musicals. For the seventh annual event, Producing Artistic Director Kevin Moore has selected Molly Sweeney: A Musical, an adaptation of Brian Friel's 1994 play by the same name, and created The Songwriter Showcase, a new concert production featuring a collection of songs from musicals in development by Festival alumni and writers new to Human Race audiences.

Broadway stars, producers and the Company of Jonathan Brielle's much acclaimed new musical, Himself and Nora about the tumultuous romance of famed writer James Joyce and his muse, lover and most ardent supporter, chambermaid Nora Barnacle, gathered to celebrate the release of the album produced by John Yap for noted theatrical music label Jay Records. Kim Criswell Stars as Ethel Merman in MERMAN'S APPRENTICE Reading at the Landor Theatre, Now thru 2/13

Merman's Apprentice, a new musical fable with Book and Lyrics by Stephen Cole (Inventing Mary Martin, After the Fair, The Night of the Hunter, The Road to Qatar!) and Music by David Evans (Birds of Paradise, Children's Letters to God) has been chosen to be the opening show as part of London's Landor Theatre's 'From Page to Stage Festival' today, February 11th and 12th at 7:30pm.

There will be an additional presentation for industry professionals on Feb. 13th at 2:30pm at The Concert Artistes' Association at 20 Bedford Street, London WC2E 9HP.

BRYAN CRANSTON Narrates H2's New Original Series BIG HISTORY Tonight

H2 presents BIG HISTORY, a new series that will dare to reveal one grand unified theory for how every event throughout history is connected. The 10-hour series will premiere tonight, November 2 at 10PM ET on H2. BIG HISTORY is narrated by critically acclaimed, three-time Emmy winning actor Bryan Cranston and produced in collaboration with the Big History Project - a free, online course from Professor David Christian and Bill Gates.

Lark Play Development Center to Hold Grand Opening, 4/26

The Lark, founded in 1994 as a laboratory for new voices and new ideas, is proud to announce the grand opening of the Lark Play Development Center, located at 311 West 43rd Street. To celebrate the addition of this new artistic center to the theater district, a Grand Opening event, organized by award-winning producer Bruce Cohen (American Beauty, Milk), will take place on Thursday, April 26, 2012 beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Featured in the presentation will be Heidi Blickenstaff, Bradley Dean, Tovah Feldshuh, Jackie Hoffman, Lauren Kennedy, Jeff McCarthy, Lindsay Roberts, Lance Rubin, Howie Michael Smith and Barbara Walsh.

BWW Interviews: Jackie Hoffman Talks Turning 5-0

Actor and comedian Jackie Hoffman is currently starring as Grandma Addams in The Addams Family, and later this month, Hoffman will be bringing her all-new solo show, 'Jackie Five-Oh!: A Celebration of Jackie Hoffman's First 50th Birthday,' to Joe's Pub. The show will feature Hoffman's trademark humor and original songs, including two that she wrote for Grandma Addams. Hoffman won the 2003 Theatre World Award for her role in Hairspray and has previously appeared on Broadway in Xanadu.

Carter Beane, Cohen, and Ashley Team Up For 'Big Time'

Broadway producer Robert Ahrens has announced plans for an original musical 'Big Time' with a creative team including Tony nominee Douglas Carter Beane (Book), Doug Cohen (Music and Lyrics) and Christopher Ashley (Director).

BC/EF Hosts 'Unsung: 'Tis the Season to be Naughty' Dec.10

UNSUNG 2007: 'TIS THE SEASON TO BE NAUGHTY is a one night only, special event. The performance is Monday, December 10, 2007 at 8PM. Tickets are available at the door for $20 at the Lucille Lortel Theater the night of the performance.

'Unsung 2007: Tis the Season to Be Naughty' on Dec.10

The third annual production of 'Unsung: A Night of Original Songs by New and Established Composers' is back at Lucille Lortel Theater this December with a cast of fifteen young performers and five special guests, including Spring Awakening's Lea Michele and Xanadu's Marty Thomas. This year's edition, 'Tis the Season to Be Naughty - will once again be directed by Phillip George (Shout! A Mod Musical, Forbidden Broadway), with musical direction by Tracy Stark and Michael Rider.
