Lakota Knuckle, Breanna Willis, Devin Alexander, Kyla Musselman, Christine Desjardins, and Jordan Goodridge are the Swings for CHICAGO. Their job is to know every ensemble track and be ready to go on at a moment’s notice if an ensemble member is either out, or is going on as understudy for someone else. Recently, Broadway World had the opportunity to chat with all six Swings over Zoom to learn all about what it means to be the unsung (until now) heroes of theatre and how this unique season is providing even more unique challenges and opportunities.

Stratford Festival audiences have been waiting a while for some 'razzle dazzle' and we finally got it when, after being sidelined by the pandemic in 2020, CHICAGO had its much-anticipated opening at the Festival Theatre exactly 47 years to the day the original production opened on Broadway! This production, directed and choreographed by Donna Feore, was well worth the wait. With incredible music, innovative and ambitious design and choreography, and dazzling performances from the entire company, this show is sure to be a hit with audiences all season long.

Seattle Rep today announced complete casting of its world-premiere production of Bruce, the new musical is based on Carl Gottlieb’s The Jaws Log, a novel about the making of the iconic film. Bruce will perform on the Bagley Wright stage from May 27-June 26, 2022, and will celebrate its official opening night on June 8.

The Griswolds’ Broadway Vacation, The Musical will make its debut this fall at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre from September 10 – October 1, followed by an engagement at Houston’s Theatre Under the Stars from October 25 – November 6 prior to its arrival on Broadway (date and theatre to be announced).

Today, Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) announced the exciting line-up of musicals for its 2022/23 Season featuring a beloved Disney classic and pre-Broadway co-production with Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre.

In 2022, the Stratford Festival is coming back big to mark a monumental moment in its history with a full repertory season running from early April to the end of October, 10 major productions and almost two hundred Meighen Forum events.

This past weekend saw a reading of Broadway Vacation, a new musical based on the Vacation film franchise. The reading featured cast members Hunter Foster, Kerry Butler, Ben Wang, Daniela Rodrigo, Alan H. Green, and Andy Grotelueschen, in roles inspired by the films.

Seattle Rep today announced its return to the stage with a full season of must-see live theater in both its remodeled Bagley Wright Theater and intimate Leo K. Theater. The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced that it will begin its 2020/21 Season with the world premiere of Broadway Vacation, The Musical, produced in association with Ken Davenport. Broadway Vacation features a book, music, and lyrics by writers and performers David Rossmer and Steve Rosen (The Other Josh Cohen) and direction and choreography by Donna Feore. Playing Fall 2020, Broadway Vacation marks the 24th new musical to be produced by The 5th Avenue Theatre.
