Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre Presents World Premiere of BLIND, Previews 2/17

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater continues its 15th anniversary season with the world premiere of Blind, by Craig Wright (The Pavilion, Lady). Directed by Lucie Tiberghein (The Pavilion, Geometry of Fire), performances begin Wednesday, February 17th, 2010. Opening night is Thursday, February 25th at 7pm. The show is scheduled to run through Sunday, March 21st, 2010.

Times Profiles Robert Evans, Subject of Upcoming Baitz Play

The New York Times profiles Hollywood producer Robert Evans today, who is the subject of an upcoming Broadway play penned by television writer Jon Robin Baitz, as BroadwayWorld previously reported. The story will surround Evans real life events. In the Times article, Evans discusses how he suffered a stroke and was originally paralyzed on his right side and unable to speak. After much work, Evans has been able to return to his role of successful Hollywood producer.

Jon Robin Baitz Set to Pen New Play for Expected Broadway Run

Writer Jon Robin Baitz is currently in the works of authoring a new play about Hollywood film producer Robert Evans. Evans worked on such films as Rosemary's Baby, Love Story, The Godfather and Chinatown and was also well known for his much-publicized seven marriages. The play is expected to open during the 2010-2011 Broadway season.

Sarah Paulson Joins MTC's COLLECTED STORIES

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) are pleased to announce Golden Globe nominee Sarah Paulson ('Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip,' The Glass Menagerie) will join Tony Award winner Linda Lavin in Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming Broadway premiere of Donald Margulies' COLLECTED STORIES to be directed by Lynne Meadow at MTC's Samuel J. Abraham, Channing, Garner, Hutton, Knight, and Wendt to Star in A CHRISTMAS CAROL, 12/22-12/27

An award-winning cast, including Academy Award winners F. Murray Abraham and Timothy Hutton, Emmy Award winners and Academy Award nominees James Garner and Stockard Channing and popular character actors Wayne Knight ('Seinfeld') and George Wendt ('Cheers,' Second City) will bring Charles Dickens' beloved tale of miserly Ebenezer Scrooge and his visit from the three Ghosts of Christmas to life on the stage of Chicago's Civic Opera House from Dec. 22- 27. stageFARM (Carrie Shaltz, Founder/Executive Director and Alex Kilgore, Artistic Director) announced the complete cast for the upcoming World Premiere The Gingerbread House by Mark Schultz, directed by Alex Kilgore. Performances were set to begin Friday, April 11th, but the first few previews were delayed and the production starts this evening Monday April 13th as a visiting production at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place). Opening Night is set for Saturday evening, April 18th at 8 p.m.
