Review - Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark

The funny thing about 70 million dollar musicals is that the paper used to write them costs no more than the paper used to write church basement showcases budgeted on the limit of someone's maxed-out credit card.  And twenty thousand years from now, when intergalactic societies consider our generation's artistic ambitions based on which words and music written on that paper we chose to support with extravagantly-financed productions viewed by over ten thousand purchasers of high-priced tickets every week, let's hope we don't have to sheepishly shield our faces in our afterlife abodes as they flabbergastedly wonder, 'What the hell were they thinking?'

THE LION KING North American Tour Opens Tonight in Dayton

The Dayton premiere of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, June 16 at 8 PM at the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, July 10, 2011.

ARCADIA Begins Final Week Of Limited Engagement

The Tony® nominated revival of Tom Stoppard's ARCADIA directed by David Leveaux, begins the final week of its limited engagement tonight at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street).

THE LION KING North American Tour Celebrates Sold-Out Run in Toronto

Disney's THE LION KING continues to reign across North America with a sold-out eight-week return engagement in Toronto which concluded on Sunday, June 12. The engagement, which the Toronto Star enthused, "is back and more glorious than ever," grossed over $12 million at the box office and entertained more than 123,000 patrons during 64 performances at The Princess of Wales Theatre.

RIALTO CHATTER: THE MOTHER WITH THE HAT Extends Through September 10?

THE MOTHERF**KER WITH THE HAT may be extending its Broadway run for a second time. Although there's no official word just yet, Telecharge has released a new block of tickets for the Tony nominated play, which was set to close on July 17th following a first extension earlier this month; tickets are now being sold through September 10th.

Due to an extension, The Motherf**k**er With The Hat will now play through Sunday, July 17th at Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street). Directed by Anna D. The new Broadway musical, COME FLY AWAY, conceived, choreographed, and directed by Tony Award-winner Twyla Tharp and featuring vocals by Frank Sinatra, will make its Connecticut premiere at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford May 29-June 3, 2012, as part of The Bushnell's 2011-2012 Broadway Series.

Bobby Cannavale Sustains Head Injury Backstage at MOTHERf**k**ER WITH THE HAT

As reported in the New York Daily News, The Motherf**k**er With The Hat star Bobby Cannavale sustained a head injury backstage during last night's performance about an hour into the performance. Though bleeding, the injusry was not serious. The production was paused and an ambulence called as a precaution, Cannavale finished the performance.
