Winthrop Rockefeller Institute to Host Second Annual Film Forum, 3/21 -24

The Winthrop Rockefeller Institute will host its second annual Film Forum designed to explore the arts of acting, screenwriting, producing, and directing March 21st - 24th, 2013, at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute atop Petit Jean Mountain in Arkansas (about one hour outside Little Rock).

Vintage Theatre Presents RFK, 1/4-27

This tour-de-force one-man show breathes new life into the back-story of the Kennedy family. RFK creates a very human portrait of a politician and revisits some of the darker moments in U.S. History. Author Jack Holmes expands the well-known facts of a politician's life into a stirring metaphor for the struggle to believe in our government and our leaders.

Sierra Stages Announces 2013 Season

Sierra Stages once again is offering affordable Season Passes for its upcoming season of plays and musicals in 2013. Sierra Stages' 5th Season includes three fully-staged productions: Shakespeare's popular and enduring comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream", the hilarious Tony Award-winning musical "Avenue Q" and the hit Off-Broadway revue "Closer Than Ever". The basic General Admission Season Pass is priced at only $55 (just over $18 per show) and allows theatregoers to select any performance of each of the three productions, with unreserved seating. For an additional $25, theatregoers may become Sierra Stages Members and choose reserved seats for each production. A third option, new for 2013, is a special Preview Season Pass priced at only $40 (just over $13 per show!) which allows theatregoers to attend one of the first two public performances ("previews") of each production with unreserved seating. BWW Reviews: Rhubarb Celebrates Its 10th Season With Revival of BIRDS IN CHURCH

There are some lovely moments to be found in Birds in Church, the latest production from Nashville's Rhubarb Theatre-a refashioning of the company's first production almost ten years ago, both of which feature vignettes selected from among playwright and former priest Joe Pintauro's Metropolitan Operas. There are lovely moments, to be certain, along with some that are almost riotously funny, genuinely moving and clearly provocative.
