New Rep Closes DARLING DIVAS DECK THE HOLIDAYS, 12/23

New Repertory Theatre, in residence at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, is spicing up this holiday season with New Rep's Darling Divas Deck the Holidays. This festive holiday cabaret is directed by Kate Warner and features New Rep favorites Michele A. DeLuca (Hot Mikado, Cabaret, The Wild Party, and Ragtime), Aimee Doherty (Hot Mikado, Speed-the-Plow, Cabaret, tick, tick... BOOM!, The Wild Party, Ragtime, and Into the Woods), Kami Rushell Smith (Dessa Rose), and Bobbie Steinbach (The Clean House, Romeo and Juliet, A Girl's War, The Waverly Gallery, and Stonewall Jackson's House).

TNC Presents DOLLFACE, 12/23-1/16

If you can remember that there ever was a Jack Paar or Milton Berle, you'll plotz for 'Dollface,' a raunchy, witty musical comedy for the holiday season, conceived and written by B.J. Sebring, with lyrics by David Forman, music by David Forman & Rob Hyman with additional material by Bette Midler, Rick Chertoff, Eric Bazilian and Lou Bellofatto. The naughty Christmas tuner was introduced as a workshop in Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival this past summer. TNC is now presenting its premiere run December 23 to January 16 in its Johnson Theater.

According to the NY Times, Cherry Lane Theatre's Angelina Fiordellisi, will resign as Artistic Director sometime between March and June of 2011. Additionally, Fiordellisi plans to sell the building, which has been a Greenwich Village staple since 1924, due to ongoing financial struggles.

42nd Street Moon, the company that presents intimate productions of uncommon musicals, has chosen a show perfectly suited to the holiday season: BABES IN ARMS by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, with the script adapted by John Guare. The show features the memorable popular classics 'My Funny Valentine,' 'The Lady is a Tramp,' 'Johnny One-Note,' 'Where or When?' 'I Wish I Were in Love Again,' and 'All at Once.' Low-priced previews will be presented at the Eureka Theatre on December 1, 2 and 3, with the Opening on Saturday, December 4 at 6 pm. It will run through December 19.

Sir Elton John will perform a concert on Wednesday, January 19 at a private home in Beverly Hills to raise funds for the American Foundation for Equal Rights. The Foundation's case, Perry v. Schwarzenegger, is the federal constitutional challenge against Prop. 8. The Foundation was victorious in federal district court earlier this year, and will argue before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on December 6.
