Hidden Realms' ASCEND Receives The Encore! Producers' Award And Extends

After a successful run at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, Ascend: When Myths Fall, Heroes Rise received the Encore! Producers' Award and has extended for two more performances. The Encore! Producers' Award is given to the shows that represent the best of the Hollywood Fringe Festival, based on artistic merit and commercial potential.

Adirondack Theatre Presents SEQUENCE

Adirondack Theatre Festival Producing Artistic Director, Chad Rabinovitz, announces the third show of the 2019 season, Sequence. The show runs July 23 - 27, 2019 at the Charles R. Wood Theater in Downtown Glens Falls, NY. The leading professional theatre in the Capital Region, ATF is dedicated to new plays and musicals, the season runs June 14 - August 9, 2019 with all performances at the Charles R. Wood Theater.

EVE OF BELTANE Will Premiere At Broadway Bound Festival

Izen and Koepfinger's 'Eve of Beltane' tells the oh so familiar tale of forbidden love and examines the very fabric of its nature. Beyond time, beyond space, we find that divine love can penetrate all boundaries - race, nation, and class. This timeless drama features the music and lyrics of Joe Izen with Henry Aronson as Musical Director. Cailin Heffernan will direct. Production Stage Management is by Byron C. Saunders.

The Waterville Opera House Presents THE DIVINE SISTER

BWW Review: Kenley Smith's MAIDENS Heralds Auspicious Beginnings for Tennessee Playwrights Studio

Although an over-arching consideration of evil is perhaps difficult to comprehend even three-quarters of a century after the end of World War II and beyond the scope of a stage-bound drama, playwright Kenley Smith nonetheless focuses his attention on the intertwined stories of two such villains as those captured in those wartime photos to great effect and maximum impact in Maidens, an original work given its world premiere production by Tennessee Playwrights Studio at Nashville's Darkhorse Theatre. Onstage through July 13, Maidens is as disturbing and provocative as its subject matter would indicate, brought to life with bravery and commitment by a seven-person cast under the direction of the playwright himself.

Against all odds, Nat dares to RISE above injustice, REVOLT against slavery and believe in the REDEMPTION of all humanity.

4th Annual Indie Street Film Festival Announces Feature Film Lineup

The Indie Street Film Festival (ISFF) proudly announced its feature film lineup today. The opening night selection for its 2019 festival is GAY CHORUS DEEP SOUTH (a 2019 Tribeca Film Festival official selection). The documentary film follows Conductor Tim Seelig and 300 singers in the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus as they embark on a tour of the Deep South in 2017 to confront a resurgence of faith-based anti-LGBTQ laws brought about in the Trump era. Director David Charles Rodrigues is a Greek-American-Brazilian filmmaker and equal rights activist. He's a Sundance New Frontier and Documentary Lab fellow. Gay Chorus Deep South is his feature debut. The film will be followed by a live musical performance by members of the Monmouth Civic Chorus.

Bette Midler to Perform at New York Pride

Bette Midler is set to perform at New York's Pride Main Event on Saturday June 29 at the Javits Center, according to Variety. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Stonewall, she'll perform accompanied by "Hairspray" and "Mary Poppins Returns" composer Marc Shaiman. Midler's special performance is set for 11 p.m.
