Vocal Arts Ensemble Announces 40th Season

Cincinnati's Vocal Arts Ensemble (VAE) returns for its 40th- anniversary season with four unique concert programs in three historic venues: Christ Church Cathedral, St. Rose Church, and Memorial Hall, the VAE's permanent home. 

Thierry Fischer And The Utah Symphony Open 2019-20 Masterworks With September Concerts

The Utah Symphony's 2019-20 O. C. Tanner Company Masterworks Series launches in September with two weekends of performances conducted by Music Director Thierry Fischer. On September 13 and 14, the Utah Symphony performs music inspired by the night sky, including Holst's a?oeThe Planets,a?? Kaija Saariaho's a?oeAsteroid 4179 a?" Toutatis,a?? and Messiaen's a?oeWhat is Written in the Starsa?? from a?oeDes canyons aux étoilesa??.a?? Then, on September 27 and 28, another nature-inspired program includes Respighi's a?oePines of Romea?? and Messiaen's a?oeThe Oriolesa?? from a?oeDes canyons aux étoilesa??a?? on a program also featuring guest violinist Viviane Hagner and Utah Symphony Principal Violist Brant Bayless performing Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante. Tickets for both concerts are priced from $20 to $92 and can be purchased at utahsymphony.org or by calling (801) 533-6683. Operatic Premiere By Young Composer Comes to Melbourne Fringe

This years Melbourne Fringe Festival (September 12-29) will feature a new operatic work by young Melbourne composer Scott A. Aschauer titled Netsuke and Inro?. Combining elements of Japanese noh and kabuki theatre with Italian opera, Netsuke and Inro? is an innovative new Australian work exploring the extraordinary relationship between Japan and the West during the third year of the Meiji restoration. Netsuke and Inro? will be premiered at Alex Theatre, St Kilda on September 21, 6:30pm.

Lion Child Releases Debut Album

Today, Los Angeles based artist, Lion Child debuts her nine-song studio album, 'LION CHILD.' Her single 'Mixing Chemicals' was released on July 26, with a follow-up single release of 'Famous Weekend Lover' on August 09.

Kim Wayans Will Play God In AN ACT OF GOD At Bristol Riverside Theatre

Bristol Riverside Theatre will kick off its 33rd Season by putting God centerstage in the sinfully funny An Act of God by 13-time Emmy winner David Javerbaum. Seated at the staircase to Heaven, audiences will find national TV, film and comedy star Kim Wayans. The In Living Color alum, and a member of the famous Wayans family, will rule the universe in a new comedy penned by former The Daily Show with Jon Stewart writer Javerbaum. The play, which was a smash hit on Broadway, was based on Javerbaum's Twitter persona @TheTweetofGod, which now boasts six million followers. An Act of God is directed by BRT Founding Director Susan D. Atkinson. The show will run for 28 performances, from September 17 to October 13, 2019, with the press opening on Thursday, September 19 at 7:30pm. All performances are at Bristol Riverside Theatre in Bucks County, located at 120 Radcliffe Street. Tickets start at $43 and are available online at brtstage.org, at the theatre's box office, or over the phone at 215-785-0100.

Dialogue With Three Chords Announces Cast For THE EMPIRE NEVER ENDED

Dialogue with Three Chords (D3C) starts their ninth season of independent theatre with THE EMPIRE NEVER ENDED this Thursday, August 22 at 8pm downstairs at Von Bar on 3 Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10012.
