The City Parks Foundation SummerStage Concert Series presents over 100 shows in all 5 NYC Boroughs throughout the Summer. The best part? Tony Award-winning Children's Theatre Company is holding auditions for all student roles for the four-time, Tony Award-winning production of Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical at Mall of America on August 18, 2018 between 9:30am to 3:30pm. CTC is encouraging students of any/all genders, racial backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels to audition. All student roles are being considered for this and other CTC productions through this audition. There will be an additional call-back audition at a later date.

Ophelia's Jump Productions presents their Annual Midsummer Shakespeare Festival with ROMEO & JULIET and AS YOU LIKE IT. Forests think in decades, not hours. Beloved Festival (Aug 10-13 in Tidewater, OR), the annual gathering uniting eclectic music and ecstatic experience, thinks similarly, building community and building soil in the middle of the boreal rainforests of Tidewater, Oregon. Every year, the festival seeks out artists and movement teachers from around the world whose work speaks across boundaries, who can bridge broad divides yet keep an incisive edge. It hosts art that reveals all we have to learn from one another, in a space that mixes playfulness and thoughtfulness.

Friday was an historic day for Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden as two of the four new varieties of plants headed to the International Space Station (ISS) were selected by middle and high school students through experiments coordinated by Fairchild.

Described by NPR Music as joyous folk-pop, Kuinka 'laces modern folk and Americana with an electronic jolt, waltzing along the grooved edges of dream-pop, synth-pop, and Brooklyn's mid-aughts guitar-rock revival' (Vanyaland). Summer Nights at the Osher Marin JCC is thrilled to bring Kuinka's genre-defying music featuring several different lead singers, four-part harmony, and eclectic instrumentation including cello, banjo, synthesizers, ukulele and electronic percussion to the series.

The Blank Theatre in Hollywood is now accepting script submissions through July 30 for its 2018-2019 Living Room Series, which will begin in September.

The Davis Shakespeare Festival opens up their 2018 season with Peter Oswald's modern adaptation of Friedrich Schiller's Mary Stuart. Set in England in 1586, it explores the relationship between Mary, Queen of Scots and Queen Elizabeth I of England. This battle of the Queens sets the stage for an intricate pas de deux of Protestant vs. Catholic, Scotland vs. England, and conscience vs. power. It is also a testimony on how much the world has not changed in the political arena-subterfuge, ambiguity, and blind ambition are as prevalent now as they were in 16th century England.

The Jungle by Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson has won the South Bank Sky Arts Award in the 2018 Theatre category. The production is set in Europe's largest unofficial refugee camp, the Calais Jungle, which in 2015, became a temporary home for more than 10,000 people. A National Theatre and Young Vic co-production with Good Chance Theatre, The Jungle is directed by Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin. It is currently in previews at the Playhouse Theatre in London's West End, produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, Tom Kirdahy and Hunter Arnold, following a sell-out run at the Young Vic in December 2017.
