Glee-Cap: Series Finale '2009/Dreams Come True': Don't Stop Believin, Hold On To That Feeling.
by Robert Lawlor
- Mar 20, 2015
Finales of musicals wrap great stories up in wondrous melody: sometimes in great joy and rapture and sometimes in heartbreaking reality. The finale of Glee will I'm sure be no different, and I wouldn't want it to be anything less than a mix of the joy and the sadness. I never dreamed that I would get the chance to write for BroadwayWorld or any professional website, so when I first got offered the position in season two, I wasn't sure if I would be any good at it. In that moment, I felt kind of circa Season 1 New Directions - an underdog aiming to make something special happen. I can't say for sure how good I've been at this, but I've enjoyed having this place, having this moment and sharing it with however many people have read these ridiculous recaps week to week for five years.

by Robert Diamond
- Mar 20, 2015
With a career spanning over six decades it's inconceivable to think Diana Ross has never performed a concert in Hawaii. That's all about to change as Ms. Ross brings her magical live stage production to The Islands. The concert is a complete theatrical experience, filled with breathtaking costumes, an elegant stage design, and a massive catalog of hit songs, such as 'Stop! In the Name of Love', 'Touch Me in the Morning', and 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough.' Reviews have been stellar for her recent shows, proving that the icon of stage and screen is still in her prime. The Star-Telegram in Texas raves: 'Diana Ross held the fortunate (audience)...in the palm of her hand from the beginning, and never let them go.' As the star herself has stated, 'My interaction is with the audience on a one-to-one. I always try to see their faces and try to see their eyes. It's that harmonious vibration, good energy that flows between the audience and myself and the band and the music. Music is like love. It feels good. It's about sharing. Music is like the heartbeat of our world.'

BWW Review: MOTOWN THE MUSICAL Is High-Speed Nostalgic Fun at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts
by Matt Tamanini
- Mar 11, 2015
How do you cram 50 hit songs, over 90 characters, and 25 years of history from one of music's most important companies into a dramatically satisfying, two hour and 45 minute musical? The answer is, you don't; but based on the enthusiastic response to MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, playing at Orlando's Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts through March 15th, that really doesn't matter. What does matter is that the music of Motown (the record company and the musical) is here to make people happy. That mantra is repeated multiple times during the show's most difficult situations by its central figure, Berry Gordy. According to the musical, Motown's founder created the most successful independent record label of all-time on little more than determination and a desire to spread joy. As anyone familiar with Motown's mile-long string of hits, or the stage show that they inspired, can attest to, Gordy, Hitsville U.S.A., and MOTOWN THE MUSICAL more than delivered on creating joy for countless generations of music fans.
