Following its sold-out run on Broadway, the explosive 2008 production of TENNESSEE WILLIAMS' Pulitzer Prize-winning classic CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF will be opening in London's West End in December this year.

The award-winning smash hit Broadway production of Tennessee Williams's 'CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF', which enjoyed a sell out run on Broadway last year with an all black cast, will open in London's West End this winter. 'CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF' will open at the Novello Theatre on Tuesday 1 December, following previews from 21 November. The limited season will finish on Saturday 10 April 2010.

The New York Times reports that Denzel Washington will star in what many consider August Wilson's greatest masterpiece, Fences. The revival will come to Broadway in the Spring of 2010.

The Shakespeare Society will host an evening entitled MARLOWE VS. SHAKESPEARE: RIVALRY, IMITATION, & INFLUENCE, which will be held at the Kaye Theatre on November 9th. The evening will feature Broadway's John Douglas Thompson and Matthew Rauch, as well as Columbia University professor James Shapiro. The evening will be a discussion of the Elizabethan authors, Marlowe and Shakespeare, and their works.

The Irish Repertory Theatre announces a one-week extension of its latest hit THE EMPEROR JONES -- Eugene O'Neill's powerful classic about the charismatic Brutus Jones, a self proclaimed emperor of an island nation, who attempts to flee the angry natives and his personal demons -- with performances now scheduled to run through December 6 at The Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) in Manhattan. Ciaran O'Reilly directs.

The Napa Valley Opera House has announced its upcoming featured events in November. On Wednesday, November 4, the Opera House will feature high-wire walker Philippe Petit in discussion, followed by a screening of his Academy Award-winning documentary Man on Wire. Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers will play the venue on Thursday, November 5, while on Saturday, November 7 they will present the Southern string band Carolina Chocolate Drops.

John Douglas Thompson -- OBIE and Lucille Lortel Award-winning actor for last season's acclaimed revival of OTHELLO -- returns to Off-Broadway in the Irish Repertory Theatre's 2009-2010 season opener, THE EMPEROR JONES by Eugene O'Neill at The Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) in Manhattan.

Tony® Award-winner Liev Schreiber and Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson, in her Broadway debut, will star in Arthur Miller's A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE directed by Gregory Mosher on Broadway at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). Performances begin Monday, December 28, 2009 and the official opening is Sunday, January 24, 2010. The limited engagement will run for 14 weeks only.

Real-life married couple Paige Davis and Patrick Page will star in a special engagement of I Do! I Do!, the classic Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt musical based on The Fourposter by Jan de Hartog, in The Old Globe's new Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre. The well-loved classic, by the creators of The Fantasticks, spans five decades in the life of a married couple - from the nervousness of their wedding day to the wisdom of old age. I Do! I Do! will run Dec. 11 - 20, 2009. Previews take place on Dec. 11 at 8:00 p.m. and Dec. 12 at 2:00 p.m. Opening night is Saturday, Dec. 12 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale to subscribers only.
