The House Theatre of Chicago to Stage World Premiere of THE LAST DEFENDER This Winter

The House Theatre of Chicago presents the world premiere of THE LAST DEFENDER at the Chopin Theatre Downstairs Theatre, 1543 W. Division St., Thursday, Jan. 21 - Sunday, March 13, 2016 written and directed by Artistic Director Nathan Allen, with puzzle design by Sandor Weisz and art direction by DC Comic Artist and Company Member Chris Burnham.

The House Theatre of Chicago Extends THE MAGIC PARLOUR

The House Theatre of Chicago proudly announces the addition of Sunday matinees to Dennis Watkins' The Magic Parlour, currently scheduled at the Palmer House Hilton, 17 E. Monroe, May 9 - July 31. Regular performances take place Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. with added performances Sundays at 2 p.m.* Tickets are $75 each, which include wine and beer selections, and may be purchased at www.themagicparlour.com, www.thehousetheatre.com or by calling The House Theatre of Chicago Box Office at 773.769.3832. The Magic Parlour is recommended for ages 10 and up and dressy attire is highly recommended.

This expanded season is being performed in creative venues throughout Harbor Country, including the Acorn Theater, Vickers Theatre, and the historic Lakeside Inn. Three Oaks Theater Festival is presented with major support by The Pokagon Fund.

THE MAGIC PARLOUR Adds Summer Saturday Performances

Now well into its third year at the historic Palmer House Hilton Hotel, Dennis Watkins' one- man-show, The Magic Parlour: an intimate evening of classic magic, expands its performance offerings from its long-standing Friday nights, to include several summertime Saturday nights as well. With many Fridays selling out well in advance, the addition of 7:30pm and 9:30pm performances on select Saturdays will provide Chicagoland's warm weather tourists more opportunities to witness this one-of-a-kind production.

After running for two years at the Chopin Theatre in Wicker Park, Dennis Watkins' one- man-show, The Magic Parlour: an intimate evening of classic magic, first appeared at The Palmer House Hilton on New Year's Eve of 2011. Produced by The House Theatre of Chicago, this intimate, close-up magic and mind-reading show rang its third year at the historic hotel with a New Year's Eve performance on December 31, 2013 in the legendary Empire Room.

The National Theatre of Scotland commissioned and produced the world premiere of The Wheel in 2011. The Wheel began previews September 12, 2013 (Opening night is September 22; Press performances are September 21 at 3pm and September 24 at 7:30pm) and runs through November 10 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St).
