The House Theatre of Chicago announces the final production in their 15th season, The Great and Terrible Wizard of Oz, adapted from L. Frank Baum's book by The House Theatre Company Member Phillip Klapperich and directed and choreographed by The House Theatre Company Member Tommy Rapley, playing at the Chopin Upstairs Theatre, 1543 W. Division St., March 17 - May 7. Opening/press night is Monday, March 27 at 7 p.m. The performance schedule is Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. and Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. Preview tickets (evenings March 17 - March 26, no performance March 25) are $15 and regular run tickets range from $25 - $45. The show is recommended for adults and kids aged 10 and up. Same-day tickets for students and industry professionals are $15 and available for all dates, seats permitting. Join The House Theatre of Chicago for a fun and informative conversation before the 8 p.m. performance of Diamond Dogs, this Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Chopin Upstairs Theatre, 1543 W. Division St. Special guest Alastair Reynolds, UK-based novelist and author of Diamond Dogs, will be joined by adaptor Steve Pickering of the Chicago collective Shanghai Low and Artistic Director of The House Nathan Allen. Hear from Reynolds about his inspirations for creating his 'Revelation Space Universe' where Diamond Dogs is set, and from our Chicago-based artists about shaping this world premiere adaptation. Plus, the Company will surely get Reynolds to talk about his background as an astrophysicist with the European Space Agency - an opportunity not to be missed.  Admission for this one-night-only conversation is free. The House Theatre of Chicago has announced the extension of the first play to ever grace its stage, the magic-filled crowd favorite Death & Harry Houdini, written and directed by The House Theatre of Chicago Artistic Director Nathan Allen and starring Company Member and professional magician Dennis Watkins as Harry Houdini. Filled with stunning magic, poignant dialogue and original music, Death & Harry Houdini presents the story of history's most famous magician and his life-long war against Death.

The Chicago theater community will present a wide variety of plays and musicals, as well as dance and concert offerings this summer. In support, the League of Chicago Theatres will once again create a comprehensive Summer Theater Guide that will be available at hotels, theaters, events, and destinations across the Chicago area.

?The House Theatre of Chicago's Board of Directors announce the 4th annual incarnation of The Secret Soiree, which celebrates the company's continuing commitment to amazing feats of storytelling with a one-night-only stage magic performance from Company Member Dennis Watkins (The Magic Parlour, Death & Harry Houdini). This year, the gala is hosted by Peter Sagal of NPR's Wait Wait… Don't Tell Me!.
