San Diego Musical Theatre wins awards, for their 2013 Season of Musicals, at the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle 12th Annual Craig Noel Awards on February 10th, 2014 at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in La Jolla among 500 San Diego theatre industry members and supporters. San Diego Musical Theatre recognized Board Member Susan Farese with the 2013 SDMT 'Volunteer of the Year Award' February 9, 2014. Ms. Farese and was honored at a surprise dinner, presentation of a plaque and floral bouquet and Mariachi serenade on Sunday, February 9th at Cafe Coyote in Old Town San Diego.

San Diego Musical Theatre announces their second production of their 2013 season Rodgers and Hammerstein's THE SOUND OF MUSIC, at the Birch North Park Theatre, May 10-26, 2013. A 25 piece live orchestra, led by Don LeMaster, will be playing the beautiful music of Rodgers and Hammerstein. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the opening night photos below!

The SDMT "FOOTLOOSE" cast was honored to meet with Dean Pitchford, Writer of the Original Screenplay and Lyricist, to hear a number of wonderful stories about the making of the 1984 movie, the stage production and the 2011 remake of the movie.
