Continuing our new 2017 season, Above The Stag Theatre presents the UK Premiere Southern Baptist Sissies by Del Shores, directed by Gene David Kirk (Party, Haram Iran, The Sum of Us) from 8 March.

Charles Busch's SLEEPING BEAUTY OR COMA and VAMPIRE LESBIANS OF SODOM are difficult plays to produce, but Desert Rose's director (Jim Strait) and its performers are up to the task. The double bill is the company's annual Gay Heritage presentation, which succeeds spectacularly.

Desert Rose Playhouse, the Coachella Valley's 501(c)(3) LGBT-oriented theatre, has received ten nominations for the Desert Theatre League's 2016 Desert Star awards, for three different shows: the drama, ANGELS IN AMERICA, PART ONE, and the comedies, COCK and LOOT. This season, Desert Rose plans to present a largely light-hearted lineup.

Terrific New Theatre near Pepper Place in Birmingham has had a long and interesting history. With all that Carl Stewart and his late partner Steve Stella dreamed for their new venture in 1986, I wonder if they could have imagined that 30 years later, TNT would still be going strong. As Stewart retires, we see a new day dawning when Tam DeBolt takes the reins as artistic director of Terrific New Theatre on August 1, 2016.
