The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the Globe's revival of J.B. Priestley's period classic Time and the Conways. Directed by Rebecca Taichman, Time and the Conways will run March 29 - May 4, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run March 29 - April 2. The Old Globe's Annual Meeting was held on January 27 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. After a reception in the Ottenstein Lobby, outgoing Old Globe Board Chair Harold W. Fuson, Jr. welcomed the Board of Directors and guests and announced the newly elected Board and Executive Committee members, including his successor as Board Chair, Elaine Bennett Darwin. Managing Director Michael G. Murphy gave an update on the Globe's financial position and presented highlights of the 2013 fiscal year, and Artistic Director Barry Edelstein spoke about the artistic future of the Globe and its place in the San Diego community. The meeting was followed by a reception and dinner for the Board of Directors, Ambassadors, and Founders Level Donors at the Prado Ballroom in Balboa Park's historic House of Hospitality.
The Old Globe's 2013 Gala, "A Magical Evening," netted more than $1 million for the theater's artistic and educational activities. Co-chaired by Nina Doede and Sheryl White, the black tie event was held on Saturday, Sept. 21 on the Globe's historic campus in Balboa Park. Lead underwriters for the evening wereAudrey S. Geisel and Darlene Marcos Shiley. Other major donors included Debra Turner and Conrad Prebys, along with Sheryl and Harvey White, Nina and Robert Doede, Vicki and Carl Zeiger, Mary Beth Adderley, Pam Wagner, Valerie and Harry Cooper, Gillian and Tony Thornley, Pam Farr, Elaine and Dave Darwin, Joan and Irwin Jacobs and Laurie Mitchell and Brent Woods, with many other guests making generous gifts.
