Theatre Communications Group (TCG) announces the 2015 Round 3 recipients of the Leadership U[niversity] - One-on-One program.

On Saturday, November 21, 2015 Slam Poets @ Alley Theatre will partner with Savannah Blue Arts & Outreach to provide a full day event filled with workshops and performances culminating with the 5th Annual Bayou City Slam Competition in the Neuhaus Theatre.

One Man, Two Guvnors begins the Alley Theatre's 2015-2016 season in the newly renovated Hubbard Theatre on October 2, 2015. Winner of the Critics Circle Award and multiple Tony and Drama Desk Awards, this glorious comedy is a unique laugh-out-loud mix of satire, songs, and stupendous physical comedy. One Man, Two Guvnors, by Richard Bean is based on The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni with songs by Grant Olding and directed by Gregory Boyd. Previews begin October 2, Opening Night October 7, with performances continuing through November 1, 2015.

THE FOREIGNER is the last play in the 'Alley Theatre @ UH' season. Alley Resident Company member Jeffrey Bean returns to one of his signature roles as Charlie Baker. The show opens tonight, July 8, 2015.

HOUSTON - Gregory Boyd, Artistic Director of the Tony Award-winning Alley Theatre, announced the two plays to complete its 2015-2016 Inaugural Season in the renovated theatre, Tennessee Williams' The Night of the Iguana and George Brant's Grounded.

The irresistible music of America's favorite composer comes alive, along with insights into his brief and brilliant life, in this remarkable play-with-music by internationally acclaimed actor, playwright, and Steinway concert artist Hershey Felder. George Gershwin Alone is a delightful, touching and captivating evening of sheer joy. Managing Director Dean R. Gladden announced today that Katie Jackman has been appointed to join the Alley Theatre as the Director of Marketing and Communications. Katie Jackman is currently the Director of External Relations at Seattle Repertory Theatre and will begin in her new position on May 11, 2015. She joins the Alley Theatre with over 15 years experience marketing non-profit and commercial theaters.

Gregory Boyd, Artistic Director of the Tony Award-winning Alley Theatre, announces 6 of the 8 plays that will comprise its 2015-2016 Inaugural Season in the renovated theatre.

As part of the Alley Theatre's inaugural season in its renovated downtown building, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan's All The Way, a co-production with Dallas Theatre Center, will be performed in the new Hubbard Theatre. Members of the Alley's Resident Company will join with members of the Dallas Theater Center to create this monumental play about Lyndon B. Johnson's early days in office, rehearsing and performing in Houston in January 2016 and travelling to Dallas for a second run in March 2016.

Houston's seasonal favorite A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas returns to light up the Holiday Season at the University of Houston tonight, November 21 to December 24, the third production in the 'Alley Theatre @ UH' season.

On November 7, 2014 the Alley Theatre will be honored by the Texas Society of Architects with their 25-Year Award for 2014. The award recognizes a built architectural project of enduring significance that was completed 25 to 50 years earlier and has withstood the test of time by retaining its central form, character, and overall architectural integrity. The award will be presented at the gala dinner during the 75th Annual Convention and Design Expo in Houston.

On October 16, 2014 the Alley Theatre was honored with the Houston Mod Preservation Award. The award, presented by Houston Mod, recognizes Alley Theatre for furthering the knowledge, appreciation and preservation of modern architecture and design in Houston and Texas. Houston Mod's president Steve Curry states that the Houston Mod Preservation Award 'is specifically intended to celebrate Alley Theatre's stewardship of this unique modern Houston landmark, especially appropriate now that the renovation is underway.'

Featuring iconic costume and set designs by Edward Gorey, the Alley's production is based on the original 1927 adaptation of the classic thriller that marvelously balances the menace of the horror tale with sophisticated satire.
