For the month of April, performers can submit their song or monologue videos on Stagelighter.com to a panel of six Broadway casting directors for free. Panelists will nominate videos into a final round which will be posted on Stagelighter's Facebook page and one performer chosen by the public will win round trip airfare to New York City, private meetings with each of the six casting directors, tickets to a Broadway show plus a backstage tour. A limited number of $40 rush tickets for the much-anticipated ninth annual edition of Broadway Backwards will be released for sale at 6:30 PM Monday, March 24, 2014. The rush tickets will be sold outside the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street). They will not be available at the box office. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, cash only and are limited to two tickets per person. The show begins at 8 PM.

Having recently celebrated its 10th Anniversary on Broadway, the blockbuster musical WICKED continues to defy gravity, setting a new Broadway record for the highest one-week gross with a box office take of $3,201,333, for the week ending December 29, 2013. The first and only Broadway musical to gross over $3 million in one week, WICKED has broken the previous record, $2,947,142, which it also held (week ending December 30, 2012), and which had earlier been held by Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark, with a gross of $2,941,794 (week ending January 1, 2012).
