The York Theatre Company celebrates the release of three new original cast recordings of York productions from the 2017-2018 season: Desperate Measures, Unexpected Joy, and Lonesome Blues.
Following the successes of her Pulitzer Prize-winning The Flick and her haunting and enigmatic John, Stray Cat once again brings the latest work by in-house favorite playwright Annie Baker. An unnamed conference room. A group of creators on an intense and intensely surreal brainstorming session for unspecified purposes. All we know is that these people are being asked to keep coming up with stories - the more personal the better - in the hopes that something will jell and move their project - whatever that may be - forward.
The Incident is an award-winning theatrical performance written by Swedish playwright Joakim Daun, which asks whether love can keep two people together when the stakes are raised and tackles belonging, migration, racism and power through an intimate love story spanning Sweden and Zimbabwe.
Ron May's direction of Annie Baker's THE ANTIPODES is theatre of the highest order. Brilliantly executed with a superb cast. Stray Cat Theatre's season opener runs at Tempe Center for the Arts through September 27th.

Broadway actor turned CGI Film Director Charles Mandracchia, wins BEST ANIMATION & BEST PRODUCTION DESIGN in the Hollywood Dreamz Film Festival for his film BIG PASTA - The Jazzy, Cigar Chomping, Honky-Tonk Musical. Mandracchia is from the original cast of Tommy Tune's Grand Hotel the Musical.
