Playwrights for a Cause has announced that the show will go on as planned at the New York Theatre Workshop, 79 East 4th Street, on Sunday, June 14 at 7:30 pm. However, in light of The Sheen Center's cancellation of Playwrights for a Cause benefiting the National Coalition Against Censorship and the resulting recent media reports, playwright Neil LaBute has decided to pull his one-act play from the event.
Major casting has have been announced for the 2015 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity's Playwrights For A Cause, set to take place at 7:30pm on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Sheen Center, located at 18 Bleecker Street. A committee of artistic, managing and literary leaders from across the country selected plays by Kevin Artigue, Hilary Bettis, Kristiana Colon, Mfoniso Udofia, and Steve Yockey for the twelfth installment of the Showcase.
Manhattan Theatre Works (MTWorks) announced today that Co-Artistic Director Antonio Minino will be stepping down from his position. David Stallings will continue on as Artistic Director of the award-winning indie theatre company. Minino co-founded MTWorks in 2006 alongside Stallings and Vermont Stage Company's current Producing Artistic Director Cristina Alicea. He has been instrumental in the success and programming of the company and will continue on as a member of the acting company.
