George Street Playhouse, now located at 103 College Farm Road in New Brunswick, announced today that Playhouse favorites John Bolger (last season's American Son, 2014's Outside Mullingar) and Armand Schultz (The Spitfire Grill, Jolson Sings Again), as well as Broadway's Kally Duling (Fun Home) and Laiona Michelle (Amazing Grace) have been cast in Christopher Demos-Brown's gripping military drama American Hero, on stage January 30 through February 25.

Kathleen Turner is thrilling metro area audiences in her role as the Almighty One in 'An Act of God' at George Street Playhouse. George Street Playhouse announced today that legendary actress Kathleen Turner will star as God in the theater's upcoming comedy An Act of God by David Javerbaum.

George Street Playhouse's Educational Touring Theatre, courtesy of a grant from Novo Nordisk, is bringing its musical comedy Austin the Unstoppable to the Houston Independent School District and faith-based organizations in Houston this fall. Austin the Unstoppable in Houston is supported by a grant from Novo Nordisk, a global leader in diabetes care.

In a proclamation dated September 19, 2017, Morristown Mayor Timothy P. Dougherty declared that October 23, 2017 will be known as New Jersey Theatre Alliance Day. On that day, New Jersey Theatre Alliance ( the Alliance ) will host Curtain Call, its annual celebration of theatre, at the Westin Governor Morris in Morristown, honoring the artistic directors of its member theatres for their dedication and artistic vision, and Atlantic Health System for its support of theatre programming that enhances the health and wellbeing of New Jersey residents. The event, which is open to the public, will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and includes buffet stations, wine and beer, entertainment, a silent auction, and a raffle.

Karen Burthwright (Broadway's Jesus Christ Superstar), Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Broadway's Lysistrata Jones, Legally Blonde and Hairspray), Mitchell Jarvis (Broadway's Rock of Ages, GSP world premiere of Gettin' the Band Back Together) and George Merrick (Broadway's Honeymoon in Vegas, South Pacific and High Fidelity; Off-Broadway's Clever Little Lies) star in the inaugural production at George Street Playhouse's new, interim venue at 103 College Farm Road on the Cook Campus of Rutgers University. Performances run Oct. 10-Nov. 12, 2017, with Opening Night set for Friday, October 13.

Pocket Universe presents a new, all-female production of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, starring Alyssa May Gold (Arcadia on Broadway, Middle of the Night) as Brutus, Dea Julien (West Side Story 1st Nat'l Tour, Blueprint Specials) as Julius Caesar, Violeta Picayo (BEDLAM's Sense & Sensibility, RadioBABEL) as Mark Antony, Madeline Wolf (Fun Home on Broadway, Normativity) as Cassius, Miranda Cornell (Alter Ego, #Blessed) as Casca, and Amie Tedesco (Lemon Sky, Any Day Now) as Lucius. All other roles will be played by members of the company. The production will run through July 8, 2017 at the Access Theater Gallery Space. Opening night is tonight, June 23.
