The saying goes that there are no new ideas. Originality in the age of mass-production and population density and exponential destruction of every natural muse known to great artists, has been shot mid-flight. Originality was shot through the heart, plummeted into an oil-drenched ocean, washed upon a beach of glass and needles only to be eaten by an ice addict and made into a meme.
LES MISERABLES Celebrates 1,000 Trips to the Barricade

The current Broadway revival of Les Miserables, which opened in March 2014 and is scheduled to play through September 4th, celebrates its 1,000th performance today. The current revival has played more than twice as long as the 2006 revival, which closed after just 483 performances. The original 1987 production 6,680 performances and is the fifth-longest running production in Broadway history.

This is a major landmark in APT's development having started in 2004 with the intention of providing financial security for selected artists along the lines of a mutual assurance fund. APT aims to hold every artwork deposited into the collection for an average of 10 years to generate optimum returns. Overall, APT now comprises around 14,000 works of art and is one of the largest private contemporary art collections in the world. A record 73 APT artists were represented at this year's Art Basel in Basel, 16 – 19 June, 2016.

Head over to the Matrix Theatre in June for a mini Australian theater festival, when L.A.'s Australian Theatre Company presents a 'Double Feature' of two celebrated Australian plays that were made into movies and ATC's second annual free reading series - all over the course of 3-1/2 weeks. Opening with Speaking in Tonguesby Andrew Bovell on June 6 and the U.S. premiere of Ruben Guthrie by Brendan Cowell on June 7, performances of the two plays continue in repertory through June 28, with a free "Works by Women" reading series taking place every Wednesday evening.
