James David Parker Shares Message of Hope in New Book

After enduring years of depression due to problems in his career, author James David Parker found answers through Bible study, prayer and introspection. He realized he wasn't the only one who faced depression and decided to start a program in his church for others. In an effort to reach an even larger audience, Parker wrote his new book, 'The Fire Will Not Consume You-Isaiah 43:2b: A Journal of Prayer-A Search for God' (published by Inspiring Voices). Parker provides a powerful message of Christian spirituality that unlocks the awesome power of God to guide our lives.

DANCENOWNYC to Present Mark Dendy's NEWYORKnewyork@AstorPlace, 5/6-9 at Joe's Pub

DANCENOWNYC kicks off its 20th anniversary season with the world premiere of NEWYORKnewyork@AstorPlace, a new dance-theater work by Obie and Bessie Award-winning choreographer Mark Dendy. Performances will take place Wednesday-Friday, May 6-8 at 7pm, and Saturday, May 9 at 7pm and 9pm, at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater.

Performance Network's STONES IN HIS POCKETS Begins Tonight

Beginning tonight, March 5, Performance Network will present the satirical Irish filmmaking comedy 'Stones in His Pockets' written by Marie Jones and directed by award­winning theatre artist Suzi Regan. Co­produced by Detroit sports and entertainment executive, Tom Wilson, performances run Today­ Sunday through April 5 (Preview is Today, March 5; Opening Night is Friday, March 6) and tickets range in price from $25 to $41. 10 Hairy Legs Coming to Crossroads Theatre, 3/29

Randy James' all male dance company, 10 Hairy Legs, returns to Crossroads Theatre, New Brunswick for its third consecutive appearance on Sunday, March 29 at 3:00 pm. Continuing to showcase the company's expanded repertory that explores the range of the male dancer, the performance will be followed by a Panel Discussion on the stage with Artistic Director Randy James, New Jersey choreographer Cleo Mack and Company Member Kyle Marshall. Tickets are $25 for Premium Seating Center Section and $22.50 for Seniors, $20 Adult Side Seating and $15 for students and children.

DANCE FROM THE HEART Set for Joyce Theater This Monday

An evening of duets, for Dance from the Heart will be this coming Monday, January 26 at 7:30pm at Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue (at 19th Street). ?Dance from the Heart (#dancefromtheheart) will feature legendary dance companies and today's most sought-after choreographers. The evening is produced by and benefits Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Tickets are still available for this very special event.

Michigan's longest running, non-profit, professional theatre, the Detroit Repertory Theatre will hold its Annual Black Tie Awards Night and Homecoming Celebration and Performance tonight, November 15, 2014 at 6:30 PM. The Black Tie is the Annual Major Fundraiser for the Theatre. Funds raised at the benefit go to the Theatre's Working Capitol Fund.
