 The Santa Barbara Center for the Performing Arts (SBCPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of David Grossman as Director of Community Engagement. The Director of Community Engagement is one of five directors at the SBCPA, and is responsible for planning and implementation of growth strategies, including cultivation of new funding sources for the Jurkowitz Center for Community Engagement.

Kicking the 2016-17 season off with a bang, City Theatre presents Hand to God by Robert Askins, September 24 - October 16, 2016 on the Main Stage.

Shakespeare & Company will present a staged reading of William Shakespeare's masterpiece, Hamlet,  on Saturday, October 8th at 7pm. Featuring Finn Wittrock of American Horror Story and The Big Short, and other special guests, the reading will be presented in the Tina Packer Playhouse, and will be directed by Kevin G. Coleman, Shakespeare & Company's Director of Education and a 2016 Tony Award nominee.

Newnan Theatre Company kicks off its 39th season with the comedy Moonlight and Magnolias by Ron Hutchinson. Directed by Jeff Allen, this show is a very funny look at the real-life events surrounding the writing of the screenplay to the film classic Gone With the Wind. It opens Sept. 1 and runs through Sept. 11. It will be presented on the Mainstage.

The Pasadena Playhouse presents THE FANTASTICKS by Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones. The production will be directed by Seema Sueko, who directed The Pasadena Playhouse's critically acclaimed production of Real Women Have Curves last season.

Overtone Industries, a celebrated force in the evolution of contemporary music theatre and experimental opera, will share the next phase of its epic new multidisciplinary production, ICELAND, in concert form, at the Ford Theatres' stunning, newly renovated amphitheatre in Los Angeles on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 8:30pm. Written and composed by O-Lan Jones, in collaboration with critically acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter Emmett Tinley, ICELAND is a modern love story, set in a mythical and timeless world, where ancient creatures challenge the hero and heroine on an archetypal journey. The work tells an intimate story, beginning in an Icelandic airport and journeying off the map of the known world, into the realm of "The Hiddenfolk" and the vast mythic inner landscapes of Iceland. 

Sheffield Theatres and English Touring Theatre today announce full casting for Phillip Breen's adaptation of D.H. Lawrence's classic novel LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER, which opens at the Crucible on 26 September before a UK tour to Oxford, York, Malvern, Salisbury, Brighton and Cambridge. Breen directs a cast including Hedydd Dylan as Lady Chatterley and Jonah Russellas Mellors. The company is completed by Aretha Ayeh, Will Irvine, Ciaran McIntyre, Eugene O'Hare, David Osmond, Rachel Sanders and Alice Selwyn.
