Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Marcia Gay Harden star in GOD OF CARNAGE, the new play by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton, directed by Matthew Warchus, opened on Broadway at the Bernard Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45 Street), Sunday March 22. Nobel Laureate Alan Heeger (2000, Chemistry) will present playwright Anna Ziegler with the 2008 STAGE International Script Competition prize on April 11 at The Fountain Theatre. The prize, accompanied by a $10,000 check, will be bestowed during a short ceremony at 8 pm, immediately prior to a performance of her winning play, Photograph 51.

Washington Irving classics include The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, but he wrote other scary stories. Performances will begin at Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, 565 Camano Avenue, on Friday, April 10 and continue through Saturday, April 25.

South Coast Repertory today announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Goldfish, a life-affirming comedy about love lost and found written by John Kolvenbach. Commissioned by SCR and directed by Loretta Greco, Goldfish will run from March 15 through April 5, 2009 on the Julianne Argyros Stage. Low-priced previews are available from March 15 through March 19. Opening night is March 20. Artist Alyson Pou will play a mother and daughter joined by their hair in 'A Slight Headache,' her solo performance/installation that recreates a 19th century Dime Museum or Sideshow. The event is an LMCC Swing Space Project, and will be presented March 20 to April 19 in the Melville Gallery of South Street Seaport Museum, 213 Water Street, in Lower Manhattan.
