Leave it to the network that reinvented television with AMERICAN IDOL and created SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, one of the most artistically significant shows in recent memory, to figure out the proper balance in merging musical theatre and live television. FOX's GREASE: LIVE learned from three years of live, middling musicals on NBC (the satisfying WIZ LIVE! notwithstanding) and produced the best, most thrilling live TV musical in half a century.

Beloved author Stephen King stopped by the Broadhurst Theatre last night to see the currently-running Broadway production of MISERY, an adaptation of his celebrated 1987 horror novel. King went backstage to surprise stars Bruce Willis and Laurie Metcalf, and you can check out the photo here!

Lyric Opera of Chicago is excited to announce that Thirteen Productions LLC for WNET New York has selected the world-premiere production of Bel Canto – The Opera to be part of the prestigiousGreat Performances series on PBS. The WNET team will be in Chicago to film performances tonight, January 5, and January 8. Bel Canto will air nationally during the 2016/17 television season. 

As rehearsals begin for the West End production of Motown the Musical, full casting is announced  led by Cedric Neal as Berry Gordy, Lucy St. Louis as Diana Ross, Charl Brown as Smokey Robinson andSifiso Mazibuko as Marvin Gaye. Check out a sneak peek below!
