Photo Coverage: Manhattan Theatre Club Honors Daniel Sullivan at Fall Benefit

Manhattan Theatre Club just presented its Fall Benefitlast night, honoring longtime MTC collaborator, Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan. The evening featured appearances by some of Broadway's biggest names: Danny Burstein (The Snow Geese), Raul Esparza (The Homecoming), Boyd Gaines (The Columnist), Heather MacRae who appeared in the 1968 production of Hair which Sullivan served as assistant director,Frances McDormand (Good People), Cynthia Nixon (Rabbit Hole), friend and colleague Jack O'Brien, Mary-Louise Parker(Proof), and David Hyde Pierce (Accent on Youth). Bay Area Cabaret to Welcome Sierra Boggess, 12/7

Bay Area Cabaret presents Broadway star and Olivier Award nominee Sierra Boggess in her brand new, critically acclaimed show, Finding the Balance (The Journey Of The Middle Child.) Broadway knows her as Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera, and as aspiring opera star Sharon Graham in Master Class. London knows her for her Olivier Award-nominated performance in Love Never Dies and Fantine in Les Miserables. Sierra Boggess will return to Broadway in the spring of 2015 in the new musical It Shoulda Been You alongside Tyne Daly, directed by David Hyde Pierce. Tyne Daly, Harriet Harris, Sierra Boggess, Lisa Howard, David Burtka & More Will Star in David Hyde Pierce-Helmed IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU on Broadway; Opens April 14

Producers Daryl Roth, Scott Landis, Jane Bergere, Jayne Baron Sherman and John O'Boyle announced today that It Shoulda Been You, a new musical comedy directed by David Hyde Pierce in his Broadway directorial debut, will open this spring at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street). With an original book & lyrics by Brian Hargrove and music by Barbara Anselmi, It Shoulda Been You puts a refreshingly modern spin on the traditional wedding comedy, proving that when it comes to wedding day insanity, it's all relative. Tony and Emmy Award-winner Tyne Daly and Tony Award-winner Harriet Harris headline a cast of Broadway favorites that also includes Sierra Boggess, David Burtka, Lisa Howard, Edward Hibbert and Steve Rosen. It Shoulda Been You, which had a sold-out premiere at New Jersey's George Street Playhouse, begins previews on Broadway on March 17, 2015, with an opening night date set for Tuesday, April 14, 2015.

Edward Herrmann and Helen Cespedes Set for Westport Country Playhouse's Reading of TRYING

Tony Award nominee Edward Herrmann and Broadway actress Helen Cespedes will be in Westport Country Playhouse's Script in Hand playreading of the humorous and stirring historically based drama, "Trying" by Joanna McClelland Glass, on Monday, November 10, at 7 p.m. Director is Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $15.

Lowell Byers to Lead PERICLES, PRINCE OF TYRE at The Old Globe; Cast & Creatives Announced!

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program presentation of William Shakespeare's Pericles, Prince of Tyre, directed by Ray Chambers and running November 15 - November 23 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Opening night is Saturday, November 15 at 8:00 p.m.

Next month, David Hyde Pierce, Liev Schreiber, Jane Curtin and Michael Potts will lead a cast of Broadway and Hollywood actors to perform the work of E.B. White, beloved writer whose humorous and poignant stories and poetry include Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little. The event will be held at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Symphony Space on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 5 p.m.
