Reading Rep Theatre today announces that it has reached its funding target and raised over £1 million for a new cultural arts hub in Reading.

Reading Rep Theatre today announces 'Twas The Night Before Christmas, a sound installation for the Twilight Trail in Reading's iconic Forbury Gardens and Abbey Ruins, from 8 December – 3 January 2021.

Due to their ongoing fundraising campaign, Reading Rep Theatre has now raised over £500,000 towards the company's first permanent home in Reading, meaning the new cultural arts hub will open in Spring 2021.

Zeitgeist is a collaborative music endeavor led by Happy The man legend Frank Wyatt featuring members of the progressive rock bands Happy The Man, Oblivion Sun, and the Pedal Giant Animals Project. Zeitgeist started out as an idea for a Happy The Man reunion CD, but evolved to include other musicians Frank has performed with during his career. The music has been produced in the studios of the respective artists and at Frank's Crafty Hands Studio. This unique gathering of such great musicians has delivered a beautiful and exciting musical experience.

Fathom Events has teamed with Spencer Proffer's Meteor 17 to bring acclaimed filmmaker Erik Nelson's new documentary The Cold Blue, chronicling the heroic struggles of the U.S. Eighth Air Force during World War II, to the big screen on May 23 only. The new film, from Paul G. Allen's Vulcan Productions and Creative Differences, was constructed using recently discovered and meticulously restored raw color footage from the WWII-era documentary Memphis Belle: A Story of a Flying Fortress, directed by the legendary director William Wyler and filmed aboard B17s during combat air missions. A meditation on youth, war and trauma, The Cold Blue is a tribute to one of the world's greatest filmmakers, his cameraman Harold Tannenbaum – who perished in combat while filming – and the men of the Eighth Air Force, who flew mission after lethal mission during the Air War.

The Traverse announces its Autumn season today, presenting a canon of world-class theatre to bring its 50th anniversary year to a close. The theatre welcomes back David Harrower's multi-award-winning 2013 Festival hit play, Ciara, directed by Traverse Artistic Director Orla O'Loughlin. The new writing festival Write Here will showcase the work of the Traverse Fifty, who have been on attachment this year.
